Texas Officials Under Scrutiny for Biker Shootout Case
The secrecy that enshrouds the investigation into a biker shootout in May that left nine people dead and led to the mass-arrest of 177 people is hardly surprising in this city, where public scrutiny is rare and unwelcome.
On the banks of the Brazos River in Central Texas, Waco and the surrounding county are largely run by a close-knit circle of judges, prosecutors and law enforcement that defense lawyers complain leads local agencies to close ranks in the aftermath of this most recent calamity.

That’s quiet a link. Wrong Airplane, fires, Football but I found no story on Waco.
Maybe it’s just me, but..................
Search is your friend ;- ) (even if link is bad)

Maybe not but now we know how they will slant it when and if it does come out.
“McNamara describes the county’s criminal justice system as a close-knit Christian “posse” of Baylor University graduates committed to ‘putting away as many hard-core criminals as possible.’”
Would it be a ‘shootout’ if all the bullets came from one source?
Interesting. A clear description of the inbreeding of the Waco legal structure.
Heh, heh, mistakes were made......
Unless they are Baylor football players that commit rape. Then it can be difficult to get the matter going. Finally the miscreant will end up with 6 months in prison when the cover up breaks down.
Only a fool would let his daughter go to Baylor at this point.
Of course. But still, might as well throw away the constitution if 170 people can be put in jail on organized crime charges?!?!
A charge which usually entails a lot of investigation and work to bring charges against a dozen or so.

Sorry, I had to do that at least one time.
Back in the 80s that “group that runs the county” tried to take out DA Vic Feazel, with the help of the city cops, state cops, Texas Rangers and the feds. I’ll always believe they were pissed because two of his assistants were running for judgeships. They feared he was trying to start his on “power group”.
He was acquitted and won millions in a libel suit against Channel 8 in Dallas.
Eventually, they will have to admit that everyone who was shot was shot by a police officer. They can’t hide it forever.
A lot of bad stuff happens in Waco.
I'd heard this before, but not that the officer's remark was "testimony." I'm also not sure what significance the remark has, anyway. Nobody disputes that the affidavits are identical except for the names. The dispute is whether or not those allegations create probable cause.
A police officer testified a justice of the peace approved the affidavits without making any individual determination of probable cause.
Ping.
+1.
I missed one last week.
IBTG!
They brought the officer who signed the affidavits to testify at property seizure hearings.
IBTG!

Perhaps TG is too busy seeking asylum in Germany to monitor the Waco threads?
