Of course he is! That's the point. They say things like that to win the trust of anti-Obama people. Then, after they've gained some measure of credibility with these people, they go on to push their pro-Putin, pro-Russia BS on them. It's not really that complicated. Seems it doesn't take very much to fool some of us.
I have been quite vocal about my dislike of Russia going into Syria.
Fact is, Syria was an old Russian ally going back many years, at least 50.
I remember the old Cold War days and the terrorism the USSR used to enjoy watching play out at the expense of the West.
This caused me to have a knee-jerk response to what is going on now. When pointed out that Russia has an interest in combating ISIS, it’s a reasoned point. I’m not convinced that’s who is being fought in Eastern Syria, but that case should be made if true.
We need to look at our policy very hard. At some point it may have looked like a good idea to help the rebels. Now we have to be honest of those rebels are Syrians or ISIS.
If ISIS, it could actually be a good thing to team up with Russia rather than be antagonistic.
Russia has talked of power sharing. That is actually a pretty good omen if the U. S. is sincere in wanting the best for the area.
