Following the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, Congress set up a joint committee to investigate. After nearly 6 months, the joint committee released its report - but the Bush administration redacted 28 pages of the report, citing the damage the information could do to our relationships with foreign governments.
Ever since then, families of the victims of 9/11, lawmakers, and government watchdog groups have all been agitating for the declassification of those 28 pages. First the Bush administration, and then the Obama administration have refued all requests to reveal what's in those 28 pages. President Obama told the families during a 9/11 memorial service that he would release the information, only to reneg on that promise.
Why the secrecy? It's believed that the 28 pages detail the assistance by Saudi nationals given to the terrorists. Speculation has centered on some members of the House of Saud who may have given cash and other aid to the terrorists, and a faction in Saudi intelligence that may have also helped the attackers.
Now, investigative reporter Sharyl Attkisson will launch her new TV show by delving into the secrets to be found in the missing 28 pages.

That’s it, 100%. No one wanted to call Slick Willie on the carpet for preventing this disaster, which he could have done without “the Wall.”
That is absolutely true as well. There is a great documentary out there called “9/11: Clear the Skies” about the FAA/military having to clear 4,800 planes out of the skies on 9/11. But there are hints that there are a lot of secret things involving the relocation of leadership in an emergency.
Personal opinion the scandal is that these were Bush family friends. We should have demanded Saudis give up everyone, else declare them a terrorist state, which they are. Need to shut Saudis down, nuke the place.
Are you suggesting that any part of this article is not factual? If so, what parts?
Further, A little education never hurts.
House of Bush, House of Saud: The Secret Relationship Between the World's Two Most Powerful Dynasties by Craig Unger
Paperback October 5, 2004
I was doing a little refresher digging about 911 and ran across this.
Bottom line.
I didn’t say that anything was less than factual. What I said was the video referenced in the article was posted in the forum earlier this morning and the admin moderator closed the post because the video had previously attracted the truther crowd which ruined the discussion. I have no issues with either Sharyl or the info gathered in her video or this presentation. I’ve been suspicious of the House of Saud since that family was allowed to exit the US during the flight ban after 9/11. While I haven’t read Unger’s book, I’m familiar with the long history of the Bush/Saud entanglement from other sources.
So maybe unlock Arthur’s thread? Sharyl is a real journalist and merits the exposure she can get here.
What documents were found in Sandy Berger’s pants?
Thanks. I will look at this.
Move it Hillarys server so its gets declassified.
There are Congressional sources that have publicly stated the classified info is about Saudi involvement.
The bigger story is that inside the beltway both major parties watch each others backs—and have no interest in sharing their secrets with the public.
There are rules about reviewing and declassifying information. The rules get applied at years 10, 15 and I can’t remember the longer ones from the date the material was generated. In the absence of special waivers the material gets declassified. And you can bet those 28 pages do get reviewed rather than slipping through the cracks.
As an aside, it’s these classification rules that are tripping up people trying to defend Hillary Clinton using the “it wasn’t classified at the time” defense. If the months and days on the dates don’t match exactly, and there aren’t precise 10 or 15 or whatever year differences you’re only seeing the date when the material was stamped classified, not when it actually became classified. Since classification is determined by the nature of the material, not when someone stamped it as such.
If that’s the structure then they got reviewed once and not declassified and the next review isn’t due for at least a year. In my FIL’s experience though nobody tended to be in a hurry to declassify anything, nobody really wants to be the guy to decide something OK to have in the public space. Remember too there’s lots of lifers in the government, folks who made mistakes that allowed 9-11 to happen (and might be called out in those pages) will probably still be working for the government through 2025 or so, and “requests” will make the rounds whenever there’s a review.
