“saying that New York’s tough firearms laws are ineffective if they stand alone.”

Governor Cuomo says that New York’s firearm laws are ineffective if they stand alone.

There is strong opposition to the last batch of laws, passed under dubious “emergency conditions” in the middle of the night.

As Governor Cuomo has admitted that they are ineffective, he should have no qualms about repealing them. Why keep ineffective laws in the face of stiff opposition?

Obviously, because the stated purpose of the law is not its real purpose.
