Burnham predicted that the mindless magnanimity of liberals, who subordinate the interests of their own people and nations to utopian and altruistic impulses, would bring about an end to Western civilization.
Was he wrong? Consider what is happening in Europe.
Serbia, Hungary and Slovakia, small nations sensing they will be swamped by asylum seekers from the Muslim world, are trying to seal their borders and secure their homelands.
Their instinct for survival, their awareness of lifeboat ethics, is acute. Yet they are being condemned for trying to save themselves.
Meanwhile, the pope calls on Catholics everywhere to welcome the asylum seekers and Angela Merkel will be taking in 800,000 this year alone, though the grumbling has begun in Bavaria.
This is but the beginning of what is to come, if Europe does not pull up the drawbridge.
For the scores of thousands of Syrians in the Balkans, Hungary, Austria and Germany are only the first wave. Behind them in Lebanon, Turkey and Jordan are 4 million refugees from the Syrian civil war. Seeing the success of the first wave, they are now on the move.
Behind them are 2 million Alawites and 2 million Christians who will be fleeing Syria when the Bashar Assad regime falls to ISIS and the al-Qaeda terrorists who already occupy half of that blood-soaked land.
Yep, the third Muslim expansion is working.
I don’t understand why it is that middle eastern people don’t rise up and crush the ISIS morons running the show across the vast expanse of sands out there. Instead they’re running from their homes and hoping for asylum in a European country where they’ll likely bring along the pestilence of Islam.
We, meaning the West, need a containment strategy for Islam. Sure many of them want to flee the violence in their homelands, but the majority of them are bringing their bad habits and beliefs with them. They’re not going to make their new homes any better than the ones they left.

No, Liberalism is the tool used by the east to destroy the west. It was created by the minds of Marx and Lenin to destroy its enemies from within. Anything you read from them explains it.
What they have done, successfully I might add is put America and the West on the proverbial psychiatrist couch, convinced it that it was guilty of every crime imaginable and only pure unadulterated communism was the solution.
Of course what is not mentioned is “everyone is equal, but some are more equal than others.” It is the “some” in the US that need to be arrested and jailed for sedition.
Turn the refugees back. More directly, train and arm those who are able-bodied and send them home to defend their homelands. Arm and license them to kill Islamic terrorists and their supporters. Fix the problem.
This is a direct and foreseeable consequence of Obama’s “Arab Spring” actions, overthrowing governments and assisting AQ/MB/ISIS. He is a radical waging war against The West. He has had assistance from Hillary Clinton, John McCain, and others.
Remember, America was pathetically weak, militarily, on December 7, 1941. We were also isolationist. But Pearl Harbor served to create the most proficient, efficient, professional military apparatus the world has ever seen.
I don't think this is the "death of the west", at least not for the USA. I think this could be the rise of a far right movement unprecedented in history.
