I had all the article perfectly typed within the little box along with a photograph of Skeeter.

When I pushed ‘post’ that’s all that would appear.

Not my fault! I didn’t do it~ I was able to post the article as a comment and if you’ll read down the line, voila! you’ll see it.

Missed that on the first pass. Oh well, some days you win, some days you lose.

It doesn’t matter how much it costs contractors since they’ll pass that along to the government which in turn will pass along the bill to We the People. Just another slap in the face of the American citizen. Sadly, most will never know since he did this on a holiday weekend.

This is totally meaningless. ALLLLLLL major federal contractors offer this ALREADY... or something very close to it. Something on the order of 5-7 days.

What this will do is kill small federal contracting companies, who simply cannot compete with the big boys. They often bundle sick time and vacation time and call it 'paid time off'. You can use that as you will.

This is the very opposite of 'sticking up for the little guy'.

The 4 different GOV Ccontators that I’ve Worked for for Beining in 1992 all paid full-time employees 14 days of sick leave.

Yeah, I'd have to look at the exact numbers. I thought it was 7 days already. Maybe it's 14.

Just checked, it's 10 for me.

This is aimed at the smaller contractors like SRS, who offer bundled 'paid time off' deals, and you use the time for sick or vacation.

This is a strike against the startup contracting companies.

Most government contractor don’t get, and probably not even under this new edict, specific sick leave like federal employees. Whereas federal employees get 4 hours per pay period for sick leave on top of there annual regular leave, contractors generally get just paid time off to use as needed, accrued up to a certain level. They also get most, but not necessarily all, federal holidays. Federal employees get the 4 hours to accumulate unlimited and which upon retirement can lengthen the time for which retirement pay is calculated.

I can give you more accurate information:

Bill Clinton signed an EO, never revoked, that orders all Fed Contracting companies to give all Federal Holidays off, paid.

Most Federal Contracting companies do not bundle all time into 'paid time off', at least at present. Maybe they did before, but not now. Only the smallest companies bundle.

You are correct as to the practices of actual Federal employees.

Having worked for four govt contractors in the past 15 year only one gave ALL federal holidays off. But that one short changed on paid leave time.
