HENRY CO., Va. -- Andy Parker has withdrawn his candidacy for a seat on the Henry County Board of Supervisors to focus on gun control.
Andy Parker is the father of Alison Parker. WDBJ7's Adam Ward and Alison Parker were shot and killed Aug. 26.
Parker said he will go to Washington D.C. next week to talk to lawmakers about gun control. Parker says one of his meetings is with Mark Kelly. Kelly is the former astronaut and husband of Arizona politician Gabby Giffords, who was shot in 2011.

Something is seriously wrong with this guy mentally, knew that from the moment he was on Megyn Kelly’s show, and it goes far beyond his Kramer looking hairstyle. Since he has a problem with the Bill of Rights, it’s probably better if he doesn’t run for anything. The gun didn’t kill his daughter. A law abiding American gun owner didn’t murder his daughter. A hunter didn’t murder his daughter. A National Guard “militia” guy didn’t murder his daughter. His daughter was murdered by a “disgruntled” homosexual,racist bigot. I guess if you blame it on a gun, you won’t take the chance of “offending” anybody. These gun grabbers are a bunch of frauds.
Make no mistake that there are well connected oligarchs, gun control advocates, and political elites always looking for tragedies and associated victims that they can use in their eternal effort to take away the right of the average citizens to own firearms for self defense.
It would be of interest to know the behind the scenes maneuvering that has taken place since this tragic shooting. The angry gay, liberal, black perp and killer was psychotic just as all the other mass shooters.
When a drunk drives and kills someone is the agenda to go after cars or liquor, or is it to punish the perp as it should be?
Americans with the exception of those in ghettos are not as violent with guns as are most other countries.
Ive never seen a Conservative family whose lost a child run to the cameras..its only something liberals do, to promote their agenda. I am very sorry, Mr. Parker, about Alison and your loss. For some reason I have not heard you condemn racism, which is what killed her.
I hear you are embarking on a national campaign for gun control. Please tell America what kind of gun control would have saved Alison. If you cannot do that, please try to at least condemn racism.

Consider the case of Norma McCorvey, the plantiff in Roe v. Wade. After the Supreme Court legalized abortion, the attorneys and other activists who supported her court battle moved on, leaving her to fend for herself, economically and psychological. The only support she received came from anti-abortion groups. Eventually, they led her to Christ and she joined the fight against abortion.
