Because he has a stunning record in the NFL and has improved his passing, I think he’s not a bad quarterback. In any event he’s certainly but a bad 3rd string quarterback. The guy they traded got out played by Tebow after 3 years with the team.

I remember another gutsy quarterback with limited skills, Jim McMahon, who I believe win a Super Bowl.

The insistence but some that Tebow is “not aa quarterback” also takes in cult like dimensions especially because it’s not a reality based statement. He is and has been an NFL quarterback.

I’m really getting sick of my phone’s auto word selections.

His record in the NFL is mediocre, we still haven’t seen him on the field against starters, and his stats this pre-season are at best OK (nice completion percentage, too many sacks, too many fumbles, and again, 3rd stringers).

3rd string is where he’s been his entire career. Drafted by the Broncos and made 3rd string, traded to the Jets, 3rd string, picked up by the Pats, 3rd string (but they only carry 2 QBs, so out), now picked up by the Eagles... 3rd string.

Jim McMahon won because the Bear’s defense was amazing, at the time the best defense by any stat in NFL history. Doesn’t take much of a QB to win when your defense gives up the least points and yards ever. And look at what happened with the rest of his career (mostly backup, including when Brett Favre’s Packers won the SB, fun trivia for you there).

The insistence that Tebow is not a good NFL QB only takes paying attention to the stats. He’s a 3rd stringer, probably the most famous 3rd stringing in NFL history, possibly even the nicest, but still 3rd string material.
