I'm a situation -- which looks like it will work out fine for all involved -- but at least on paper, everyone I work with will lose their jobs and have to switch over to a different company. The new company might pick up everyone and might offer comparable salaries, but there are no guarantees.

Virtually everyone I work with is panicking. If they don't get picked up? If the offered salary is 20% less? What will they do???? They know there is nowhere to go.

No one (even here in MA) believes the rosy news they see on TV.

NJ is in the same boat (for a lot of the same reasons); nobody even pretends there is a recovery here. “For Sale” signs everywhere, shuttered businesses, mass exodus of companies & workers...

I am in that exact situation as well;so far we are told to report for work and continue as before but changes will be coming as the merger details are worked out.Lots of nervous people.
