This worries about Trump. The only way I could continue to even consider him as a serious contender for the Nomination, and later the Presidency, is if Trump tells the public who his ideal group of experts would consist of. Obviously, he is not fluent in World Affairs to a great degree. This may be a dealbreaker, unless I see who his team might be.

This is why we should elect Joe Biden.
He is also good at recognizing an Indian accent at his local 7-11.

Sundance at Conservative Treehouse speculated on Hewitt’s questioning of Trump. (scroll down to the bottom half of the page about Hewitt.)

http://theconservativetreehouse.com/2015/09/03/transparently-predictable-political-maneuverings-within-msm-and-salem-communications/

Sundance thinks, and I agree, that this is testing the waters for debate questions.

I believe the Establishment trolls and uses agit-prop trolls here on FR to get us to cough up our ideas and answers to their questions.

All the strange anti Trumpers here on FR, the over the top guys, have way too much time on their hands, i.e. they are being paid to troll us. Their vitriol is also a giveaway.

The reason the Establishment Uniparty types are so well-versed in who the terrorists are? And why Trump isn't? Our Uniparty Establishment is PAYING THE SALARIES and SUPPLYING ARMS TO THE TERRORISTS.

That's why they know exactly their names and affiliations.

Glad Trump has no idea. But he knows better than they do about how to build a wall to keep the terrorists OUT, unlike some GOPe Presidents I can think of...

What a stupid question. Hewitt. I remember someone I know called up Hewitt's show during the Mitt vs McCain time period. Hewitt was against McCain. The caller had a very salient point against Mitt and for McCain.

Later, Hewitt edited this call out of the archived radio show.

The Establishment does a lot of this kind of tampering with talking points they don't like.

If Trump selects Bolton as Secretary of State, I’m not too concerned about his administration’s foreign policy decisions.

> “Trump replied: “It will when it’s appropriate. I will know more about it than you know, and believe me, it won’t take me long.””

Perfect answer. Donald Trump is the boss and as President he will have trusted advisors brief him on every detail.

Hewitt is an ass who was trying to make Donald seem deficient. Trump put him in his place.

The Guardian is a far left rag in the UK.

Knowledge, according to Trump supporters, isn’t important. He doesn’t need a deep understanding of the world we live in. He’ll hire people to do his thinking for him. You got to love Trump fans. The more Trump acts like Obama - vain, yet ignorant, and indifferent to how our government works under the US Constitution - the more his fans show themselves little different from the Obamarobots that put him in power. Obama was black, they told us, as if that had any relevance. Trump won’t really need to know things to be President.

Donald Trump: I Will Know The Difference Between Hamas And Hezbollah ‘When It’s Appropriate’

Reminds me of the trial when the family attempted to remove Henry Ford Sr. for incompetence. When asked what he knew about a bunch of things, he always gave the same answer, and I paraphrase:

I have a bunch of buttons on my desk, if I need to know about marketing, I press the 4th button and that gets me my marketing expert. If I need to know about steel, I press the 1st button and that gets me my steel expert.

Etc.

Heck, it’s what I do as a business analyst. I will be assigned a project on something I know nothing about. I go to the internet before my first meeting and after the meeting I have my SME (subject matter expert).

This is why presidents have cabinets and why Valerie Jarret is so dangerous.

Better answer than most - He knows that if he tries to become an “expert” in every aspect, then he will foul things up - it’s why God invented expert advisors and why smart folks hire them....

...he was looking for the next president to identify the leaders of major militant groups, naming the heads of Islamic State, Hezbollah, al-Qaida and its Nusra Front wing in Syria....

Dirka Dirka Dirka

These guys join AQ, ISIS etc and give themselves new names. Who cares what their name is, look for the folks chopping off heads and blood drenched hands.

I am glad the author identified Trump as the next President.

My son is a former 1/8 Beirut Marine and I always get Hamas and Hezbollah mixed up. The only difference between terrorist groups is location. So if Trump wants to remember who everyone is he’ll have to associate with real estate. Location, location, location!

I was curious in the beginning about his foreign policy but the easy way to judge is one’s support for Israel or one’s support for her enemies.

I’m with Nick on this one.
Any candidate who is auditioning for Commander in Chief and Leader of the Free World needs to brush up on basics.
For pity’s sake, I don’t run in Trump’s high-powered circles. I have ZERO access, no clout with nobody, nowhere. I’m a semi-retired grandmother, who works part time for minimum wage, and even I know the difference between Hamas and Hezbollah.
And if I didn’t, there’s Wikipedia and beau coup information on the internet.

If Trump is serious about being MY president, he should have already hired a staff whose job it is to bring him up to speed on these things.

Trump needs to be prepared to answer reporters’ questions. He needs to be prepared to address the multitude of ways the current administration has sold out our allies and coddled our enemies, and what, if any, plans he has to undo Obama’s mess. If he doesn’t even know who our allies and enemies are / were, and thinks it’s not important to find out, how will that work out if he ends up being the nominee?

Insulting every single reporter who asks a VALID question, simply because he doesn’t know the answer, is inexcusable. Allowing himself to be drawn into pissing matches with everybody who embarrasses him, is a continual distraction from the real issues, and he’ll only make a laughing stock of his supporters.

There’s a lot I like about Trump, but stuff like this really gives me pause.

He needs to start with a competent staff of advisers, domestic and foreign policy. Winging it with off- the- cuff reactions is no way to run a campaign, much less a country.
