A serving member of the Dutch air force may have travelled to Syria and joined Islamic State.
The 26-year-old has been suspended and been blocked from "all access to information, systems and locations", a ministry statement said.
The case is being investigated by the public prosecutor.
The Dutch air force is involved in operations against the militant group, who have taken over large swathes of Iraq and Syria while murdering numerous Western hostages.
Dutch Defence Minister Jeanine Hennis Plasschaert said it that joining militant group, also known as ISIS or ISIL, was "unacceptable and punishable".
Every case of radicalisation is one too many.
It is disappointing if it appears that someone joins evil while colleagues risk their lives for the freedom of another.

yeah....why not....
I am sure we have similar issues..they just don’t publicize it.
a native Dutchman with a Dutch name or a naturalized Dutchman?
There’s only two things I hate in this world. People who are intolerant of other people’s cultures and the Dutch.
“Dutch”. Uh-huh. Let me guess his name... Jurgen? Niels?
How about treasonous?
Europe evidently sees a solution to this, and that’s by importing more and more undocumented islamists. I find that odd, but who am I to question the decisions of such worthy leaders?
After the way the Islamofascists have kicked the U.S.’s ass with Hanoi Boy and Obonzo’s “deal”, I don’t blame him. He probably knows a winning side when he sees one. The non-Islamos have already surrendered.
Not giving his name is like in America when they don’t give his race. Actually in America they are not giving names a lot more now, or in paragraph 68.
Speaking of Obonzo’s “deal”, I wonder how much of a kickback Barry, Johnny and their ‘RAT comrades are going to get. I hope the Muzzies snooker them and don’t give them jack.
