A judge let the air out of "Deflategate" Thursday, erasing New England quarterback Tom Brady's four-game suspension for a controversy the NFL claimed threatened football's integrity. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said the league will appeal.

Arbitration rulings are very seldom overturned. But in this case the Wells report was so fraudulent and the NFL unfairness and dishonesty so egregious that the judge was forced to rule against the NFL.
Now Goodell and the NFL, in yet another bad decision, are appealing the ruling and will drag this out for who knows how long.
Roger Goodell causes me to watch players wear pink, I am glad he got his a** kicked.
To appeal this only hurts Goodell. It takes him from looking like a douche to knowing he’s a douche.
If Brady is innocent why did he destroy his own cell phone shortly before meeting with investigators whom he knew wanted to review his call and text history?
Wouldn’t an innocent man be eager for the opportunity to share the evidence that would exonerate him?
They have no choice. Basically it strips the commissioner and the league to hold players, team personnel, and owners to any standard of conduct not specifically addressed in the CBA or other contracts or agreement. By issuing this ruling the judge just inserted himself as the defacto commissioner and said the Goodell had no real authority except that which the court grants him on what will become a case by case review of everything Goddell has to deal with
Pete Rose could appeal his suspension if this was MLB and they were held to the same standard of conduct detrimental to the game.
As Mike Fransesca's head explodes on-air....
(He has a sports-talk show on WFAN in NYC - rabid anti-Patriot).
“Roger Goodell causes me to watch players wear pink, I am glad he got his a** kicked.”
I totally agree. Years from now, when the NFL shows highlights of certain players or games, they’ll be shown wearing pink or some ugly throw-back era uniform. I hate it. It’s distracting and inappropriate. And they don’t just do it for one game, it seems to go on for an entire season. I blame the Commissioner.
“Pete Rose could appeal his suspension if this was MLB and they were held to the same standard of conduct detrimental to the game.”
No he couldn’t.
Pete Rose bet on baseball games which was clearly a violation.
Tom Brady did absolutely nothing wrong. The whole case against him was fraudulent.
I always ask why not take the money it costs to make all that pink crap and donate it to the cause instead of trying to be PC.
To appeal this ruling is just bad for the NFL. It just needs to go away and be forgotten.
The old saying is wrong - cheaters always prosper!
I stopped caring about NFL Football a long time ago. Who has 3 hours to waste watching a bunch of millionaires playing?
What's really appalling is them playing in billion dollar playpens underwritten by tax dollars.
4th, 5th, and 8th amendment. You would not see my cell either. It might have other things you do not need to see.
It depends. Will ratings end up being higher or lower as a result of this being in the national media cycle?
Freegards
Brady is a fraudster. He magically destroyed his phone (ala HRC) claiming this was routine for him to do, with the exception of the other older phones that were produced which he then couldn’t explain why he hadn’t destroyed them.
As for Pete, his lifetime suspension was that he had gambled. Other former Hall of Famers that associated with gambling after their careers have also been banned from participating in sanctioned MLB events until they ended those relationships. Willie Mays and Mickey Mantle were associated with casinos after they left baseball and were held to this arbitrary standard.
It makes Goodell look very louche.
Right after Tom Brady won his Deflategate case he received a phone call. Its not unusual for a Super Bowl winning football quarterback to get a congratulation call from the President.
But instead of hearing Obama on the other end of the phone, Brady is surprised to hear it is Hillary Clinton, asking how he managed to destroy criminal evidence and still get off Scott free.
Pete Rose bet on baseball games when he was the Manager of the Cincinnati Reds. It is also alleged he bet on baseball games as a player.
Brady never “destroyed criminal evidence”. He cooperated with the investigation. He refused to provide personal and private information that he was not obligated to provide.
Hillary deliberately violated Federal law by destroying official government documents she was legally required to retain and then lied about it.
There is no comparison.
Not disputing that. But if the MLB Commish is using arbitrary standards for punishment then it could be challenged.
