This poor woman needs all the encouragement that can be offered to her, along with a lot of sympathy cards, gifts (flowers and desserts, for example), and visits from well wishers. A defense fund may need to be started to help with legal costs.

Why don’t those couples just find another county clerk’s office? Their marriages will be recognized regardless of which county issues them. This is the right time and place for Hillary Clinton to say “What difference does it make?”

.
The only way to change it is five impeachments.

Our congress lacks that level of moral integrity.

The rules have already been rewritten now... brothers can gay-marry, so soon any incest ban will be struck down as unfair.

No surrender here.

Advocating positions which aid the opposition is a surrender. You do this enough, and you become them.

One constitutional amendment would do it too

You both suck and blow in the same breath too... shall the same accusation be leveled against you therefore?

Maybe not so soon.

Just my smart remark implying that her supporters may come under attack (persecution).

That’s how it feels to me; End Timey.

No, court decisions mask law, and create chaos in these kinds of cases.

But it would have to come from a convention. Congress is totally rubber-kneed on this.

Nobody was forcing her to participate. She could have resigned.

As Ted Cruz commented today:

"For every politician — Democrat and Republican — who is tut-tutting that Davis must resign, they are defending a hypocritical standard. Where is the call for the mayor of San Francisco to resign for creating a sanctuary city — resulting in the murder of American citizens by criminal illegal aliens welcomed by his lawlessness? Where is the call for President Obama to resign for ignoring and defying our immigration laws, our welfare reform laws, and even his own Obamacare? When the mayor of San Francisco and President Obama resign, then we can talk about Kim Davis."

Besides, she was elected not appointed. If the people of KY want to recall her or call for her impeachment they can.

The USSC does not have authority to legislate State marriage laws.

They channeled a right to deem a same sex pairing a marriage. Wherever that came from, that was not the Constitution. It was modern anchorless moral relativism.

Well the pushback is beginning in earnest, and the heat is not going to let up anytime soon.

I fully agree.

The ruling was based on a false premise: That anyone was denied the right to marry.

Each and every mentally competent individual can find a person of the opposite sex and marry them.

No one was ever denied that right.

They channeled a right to deem a same sex pairing a marriage.

It emanates, you see, from the penumbra of a general right to hump anything you want, found in the 69th Amendment ...

The USSC was intended to be the weakest of the three branches of government. We are definitely looking at, and living under, an activist judicial tyranny.

But, when those living in sin get married, they are stopping the sin. Re Catholics being divorced and remarrying, how would she know the circumstances?

Should have fulfilled her oath- devil’s advocate here- suppose her duties were changed to authorizing abortions? Just resign then? No standing up for God?
