A source with knowledge of these matters has confirmed to Breitbart News exclusively that RNC Chairman Reince Priebus will meet with Donald Trump at Trump Tower in Midtown Manhattan tomorrow afternoon to discuss the loyalty pledge.'
Politico reported earlier today that the RNC plans to ask candidates to sign a pledge that they will support whoever is nominated by the Republican Party and not oppose them in the general election. The political magazine speculated that the pledge is designed to force the front-runners [Trumps] hand:
The Republican National Committee on Wednesday privately reached out to GOP presidential candidates to ask whether theyd be willing to sign a pledge stating they would not run as an independent candidate in the event they fail to win the Republican nomination in 2016.
The move is an implicit challenge to Trump, who pointedly refused to rule out a third-party run during the first GOP debate. He was the only candidate who declined.
The language of the draft pledge speaks directly to the issue vexing Republicans the possibility that the billionaire could choose to wage a third party bid if he fails to win the GOP nomination, a prospect that could seriously damage the GOPs prospects of reclaiming the White House. Tapping into deep anti-establishment animosity among the conservative grassroots, Trump has surged to the lead of the deepest presidential field in recent memory. If Trump were to pull just a fraction of the vote as an independent, write-in or third party candidate, it could be enough to sink the eventual Republican nominee.
The source also tells Breitbart News that requesting candidates to pledge not to run as a third party has been a topic of internal debate at the Republican National Committee for several weeks.

Trump should NOT give up his leverage to the GOPevil. Will pray for him.
Hey Donald, offer him a quart of Panther Whizz
That’s one sure way to provoke a lot of strange and angry reactions from government employees.
The heck with that. If republicans were doing what they were voted in office to do, they wouldn’t have to worry about defections to a third party.
Republican wins in mid terms have made no difference in my life.
“I vill be loyal to zee party if I am zee nominee. Heil RNC.”
I hope Trump will tell the little fairy to stick it where the sun doesn’t shine.
Please, oh, please sign a pledge to support our mediocre, establishment *sshole, no matter who he is...
Trump will make a deal...in his favor.
The GOP RINOs can’t destroy Trump in the media, so now they want to de-horn him so they can make him lose via mistreatment behind the scenes, along with a Palinesque mudslinging campaign.
Never take that PLEDGE, Donald!
Let the RINOs squirm.
Guess who has the leverage?
And that, is where the BS stops.
Rinse needs to sign a pledge to support TEA Party candidates like Chris McDaniel.
Hopefully, Trump will tell him to perform a physically impossible act.
It’s amazing to me Rinse is still Leader after Romney got his ass handed to him in 2012
Stop, I need to go get some popcorn to be able to properly enjoy this action.....
The fact that the GOP still thinks they could win without Trump running as a third party candidate makes me laugh.
They have spent many hours insulting the base. Without much of the base, the Latino vote they would get won’t carry them.
I wonder if Reince would commit the GOP to the same? Even if Tea Party candidates win the house or senate primaries?
Let the GOPe pledge to nominate and support whoever gets the most primary votes.
