Theres been a startling development in the 2016 campaign over the last day or so: Jeb Bush is trying to display what you and I might call an emotion.
The former governor of Florida had clearly planned to do without the pesky things during his run for the presidency, but that was before Donald Trump came in and messed everything up. Trump saw a big target on Bushs back and has been shooting arrows into it remorselessly, so Bush has decided to lead an angry, forceful counterattack.
Never mind that Jeb Bush on the attack does not exactly bring to mind Henry V at Agincourt. The man is trying. His main method is to point out that Trump has been all over the map ideologically. Hes released a video full of clips where Trump says hes from (gasp!) New York and praises Hillary Clinton. Hes put a quiz on his website where he asks you if youd rather have a super-cool dude who hates Iran and stuff as president or someone who loves abortions and is a germophobe when it comes to shaking hands. (If you couldnt guess, Trump hates shaking hands. Jeb Bush wants you to know that he will shake your hand so much that it detaches from your wrist if you ask him to.) And Jebs got yet another video of himself telling Sean Hannitysubtle, Jeb, real subtlehow right-wing he is.
But Bush isnt just going after Trump on the digital front. Hes also having something of a raging public breakdown about his rival. Take this jaw-dropper of a kicker from a story in Wednesdays New York Times:

Bush is not a conservative. He is from the GOP. They lie about being conservative. It is their stock in trade.
Bait and switch.
Lucy and the football with Charlie Brown.
Mitch McConnell surrendering to Planned Parenthood.
That is what the GOP does. It runs as conservative, and then it becomes Obama/Democrat sycophants.
That is what Bush will do.
Stay out of them Bushes.
THAT is a great photo! Complete with the very bored looney in the background with the top hat.
This imbecile wants us to vote for him for president, yet frequently campaigns for the job while speaking in a language that most people do not understand.
That’s either arrogance or idiocy.
People in KY ought to be ashamed of themselves with their awful voter choices when better selections are available.
I don’t believe he ever wanted it. Trying to endear himself to the moonbat electorate of the USA is not a winning strategy.
Big money picked him and he is stuck with it, for now.
It is not that it is too hard for Bush to campaign in English, it is that his constituency speaks Spanish.
Jeb just needs for his glamorous, articulate wife to get some more exposure.
Step 1 - Lose Primary
Step 2 - ???
Step 3 - President!
Jeb: "Did I mention his name? Did I? Huh, did I? Did I mention his name?"
