Wow, criminals don’t want to get shot. Now, there’s a shocker!
I’ve come to believe they need a certain level of violence in this country. They are willing to accept a certain level of killing to further their political agenda.” — Wayne LaPierre
He was right then and even “righter” now. Now we have a regime that encourages and celebrates killing to advance tehri political agenda.
Bush’s fault
We have had CCW for a little over a year here in Illinois. Last month I saw an article titled “Even though violent crime down in Illinois more people getting concealed carry permits” No bias.
How many of those gun purchases were directly caused by the Bush-41 and Clinton Administrations’ gun-grabbing efforts?
BUSH’S FAULT!
If guns don’t stop crime, why do cops have them?
I caught a C-Span discussion recently by Akim Reed Amar, author of Law of the Land: a tour of our Constitution.A RINO, basically, but . . .
He made the points that there is nothing much in the Constitution which was not presaged in the various states - including written constitutions, bicameralism, independent judiciary, bills of rights . . . (he claimed that the framers forgot a bill of rights).
He emphasized to second founding due to Lincoln and the Civil War & associated amendments.
But in re: the Second Amendment, he noted that versions of the Second Amendment are extremely common in state constitutions, and asserted that even if you want to talk about militia, the state constitutions dont condition their 2A provisions on militia grounds but on self-defense grounds, and he comes down on the side of universal applicability of 2A.
But he says that the militia is not the National Guard but the police - and the militia, thus the police, is supposed to look like the community from which it springs.
Not somebody to take like Thomas Sowell - but somebody worth arguing with . . .
Cause, Effect.
