Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) says that defunding Planned Parenthood will have to wait for a new commander in chief in 2017.
The presidents made it very clear hes not going to sign any bill that includes defunding of Planned Parenthood, so thats another issue that awaits a new president, hopefully with a different point of view about Planned Parenthood, McConnell said Monday on the Kentucky station WYMTs Issues and Answers.
Defunding Planned Parenthood has become a leading cause among some Republicans in the wake of controversial undercover videos showing Planned Parenthood officials discussing the price of fetal tissue for medical research. Planned Parenthood, while apologizing for the tone, denies any wrongdoing, saying officials are discussing legal compensation for expenses and pointing to an analysis that the videos are heavily edited.
McConnell said that the Senate would vote again on defunding Planned Parenthood after a failed Senate vote last month, but he said that the votes are not there.
We just dont have the votes to get the outcome that wed like, he said. Again, the president has the pen to sign it. If he doesnt sign it, it doesnt happen. But, yeah, we voted on that already in the Senate, well vote on it again, but I would remind all of your viewers the way you make a law in this country, the Congress has to pass it and the president has to sign it.

Pansies. Always an excuse with these guys. I don’t seem to recall them saying during the ‘14 Congressional campaign how it didn’t matter if they retook Congress or not, because they still wouldn’t “be able” to do anything till Ebola’s gone.
HOLD THE VOTE!
The purpose is to put ALL US Senators on record!
S’OK. We are still and always will have been, 100% RIGHT. And they know it.
Same old, same old from the Republican’t, just-taking-up-space, leadership.
Why does it have to wait? The only answer I can come up with is that the GOP leadership does not have the balls to take on the President.
And then, McTurtle will say we have to wait until there is a Filibuster Proof Majority of 67 Republican Senators.
McTurtle NEVER fights.
Why? So mc turtle can roll over on his back and say that he and his GOPe ilk can’t do anything about it, AGAIN?
So, tell me again; what voting in a GOPe majority has done for us?
NOT A SINGLE DAMN THING! That’s what.
As a matter of fact, it seems that giving the GOPe the majority has empowered them to join in with the democrats in stabbing Americans in the back for fun and profit.
Mitch ... you expletive weakling! All we're talking about is ceasing the federal funding of killing babies with our tax dollars!
GOPe needs to be defeated.
This is a prime example of why.
They refuse to fight on any front, ever.
McTurtle is the FIRST LINE OF DEFENSE for Liberalism.
Keep moving the goal posts you dirty weak _ _ _.
I haven't read where obamas bitch has nullified that option
Might as well go play golf and collect $400k/year for 2 years. Not to mention all the insider trading and under the table income that makes the $400k look like a social security check.
If the House of Representatives don’t fund it, there is nothing Obama can do; at least legally.
If the spinless ones framed it just like that and hammered it home on TV, they would win.
What makes you suppose the GOP leadership, who campaigned on working WITH Obama, not AGAINST Obama, would lift a finger to do anything but support Obama?
It’s not balls or cowardace, all things aside. They are liberals to their core. We tried telling people that. Eventually people will abandon asinine pride that CAUSED this fiasco and admit that liberals are in fact what they for whatever reason, voted for.
And not repeat that damn mistake in 16.
He didn’t move to defund it when the gop-e had all three....what makes us think he will do so IF the gop-e wins in 2016 and holds the Congress.
Yup. Always was. Always will be.
