Before the battle to withdraw federal funds from baby body parts trafficker Planned Parenthood has even begun the Senates Republican Majority Leader, Senator Mitch McConnell, has already surrendered.
In an interview with Lexington, Kentucky TV station WYMT McConnell announced that funding the government Mitch McConnellis the top challenge facing him when he returns to the Capitol next week and he would work with the White House to come up with budget levels to keep the government open past Sept. 30 without a rider defunding baby body parts trafficker Planned Parenthood.
The Senate Democrats have a big enough number to prevent us from doing things. They prevented us from doing any of the bills that appropriate money for the government, thereby forcing a negotiation when we go back in after Labor Day, which Ill be engaged in with the administration and others to try to sort out how much were going to spend and where were going to spend it, McConnell told WYMT.
Now heres the most amazing item of hypocrisy in the McConnell WYMT interview; Mitch McConnell claims he led on the issue of stopping Planned Parenthood from dismembering babies and selling their body parts.
We just dont have the votes to get the outcome that wed like, McConnell responded when asked about defunding Planned Parenthood. I would remind all of your viewers: The way you make a law in this country, the Congress has to pass it and the president has to sign it. The president has made it very clear hes not going to sign any bill that includes defunding of Planned Parenthood, so thats another issue that awaits a new president hopefully with a different point of view about Planned Parenthood.
We are reminded that when we endorsed Mitch McConnells opponent in the Republican primary a McConnell supporter wrote us to extol Senator McConnells great pro-life record.
Were wondering what that nice lady thinks of Senator McConnells commitment to life now.
Now heres another interesting item buried in the McConnell WYMT interview and ferreted out by Roll Calls Niels Lesniewski: McConnell said that in order to really make the changes he envisions on regulations, Republicans need a nominee at the top of the ticket who can win purple states rattling off a list of places where he also needs Republicans to win Senate contests to continue as majority leader in 2017.
Whoever our nominee is is going to have to appeal in places like Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Florida, Colorado, Nevada those states that tend to go back and forth, McConnell said. Looking at the polling data in those key states, I think people are ready to go in a different direction. We just have to nominate somebody that they find appealing.
Translation McConnell plans to back a content-free establishment Republican presidential candidate like Jeb Bush or John Kasich and replay the dirty tricks campaign he used to thwart conservative senate candidates.
To paraphrase our friends at The Madison Project: If there is one individual who represents the face of the stale, tone-deaf, timid, moss-covered and obtuse leadership of the GOP establishment, it is Mitch McConnell. Mitch McConnell emblematizes the rudderless leadership, vacuous core, and duplicitous tendencies of the powers that be within the Republican Party.

No brainer.
Probably not fair to pick on monkeys
“Held his ground” ????
The ONLY ground McICantatall ever “held” was his grip on the only seat in Congress he cares about: His own. And it is worth as much as atoilet seat for all the energy he has spent opposing this evil administration>
“I can’t do anything: look, they have 62, 61, 60, 59, 58, 57, 56, 55, 54, 53, 52 votes ...”
gee how logical. I guess by that logic when someone says they'll never let hostages go then why negotiate? It's just a waste of time right?
*itch McConnell, yet another purse slapping useless prostitute.
Once again, why did we bother voting?
“Vote for the R or the D will win!!!1!” -what they say every election, yet they haven’t shown there is any difference between them.
Mitch is not a surrender monkey he’s a never start monkey.
The spineless little weasel can’t do anything because HE doesn’t want to do anything.
If he invoked the nuke option and told his caucus you will help me get thru a Conservative or else they would fall in line.
But Mitch the post turtle wants to be friends and wine and dine with all the liberals instead.
And he wonders why the likes of Cruze, Trump and Carson are getting the support they are? Stupid Idiot. I don’t live in Kentucky to cast a vote against him.
And people said the elections would fix everything.
Ohh, maybe they were meaning the NEXT election...that’s right, the next one will do it.
He could at least force the democrats to vote in favor of gutting, cutting, and selling babies.
The Senate Democrats have a big enough number to prevent us from doing things.”

“Do or do not, there is no try.” ...Yoda
These knuckleheads so fear the dark side that they are paralyzed and don’t even try to fight...this only breeds more GOPe pussy behavior. The country needs a Trump or someone like him with Jedi balls!
I do hope there's a whole lot of primarying going on.
He also said Boehner "twitches" if the conservative base makes "gestures that might undermine his position."
"Boehner is neither feared nor loved," he goes on. "He's a would-be DeLay without the whip. He's the one at the end of a lash."
Blumenthal said then-Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., is "relatively in the same position in the Senate."
Senate Democrats have the same number that McConnell had when he was in the minority, but somehow McConnell was never able to prevent things.

Again, McConnell is an excellent example why the ill-conceived 17th Amendment should never have been ratified.
As mentioned in related threads, note that not only have the states never amended the Constitution to expressly grant Congress the speciifc power to tax and spend for anything like Planned Parenthood, but the Supreme Court has clarified that Congress is prohibited from appropriating taxes essentially for anything that it cannot justify under its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers.
Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States. Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
Appropriating taxes to fund things like Planned Parenthood is therefore unconstitutional imo.
The 17th Amendment needs to disappear and corrupt senators who support appropriating taxes for things like vote-winning Planned Parenthood as well.
Well, he is the Pride of Kentucky.
