That reminds me of an NYPD story I read on FR...
The police union demanded a raise, which would cost the city north of $2mln. The city replied they couldn’t afford it.
So for two weeks, the NYPD wrote thousands of tickets and citations, until they amassed the $2lmn - and said to the city, there’s your money, where’s our raise...
Really. Lottery commissions are supposed to be independent with a percentage of the take going to the state and the winnings are supposed to come out of the money that was played in that game. How could this happen?
Of course they did. But where do you think that money actually goes?
