WASHINGTON (AP) Republican presidential candidate Scott Walker says that building a wall along the country's norther border with Canada is a legitimate issue that merits further review.
Republican candidates have generally taken a get-tough approach on deterring illegal immigration, but they usually focus on the border with Mexico.
The Wisconsin governor was asked whether he wanted to build a wall on the northern border, too, during an interview Sunday on NBC's "Meet the Press."
Walker says law enforcement officials in New Hampshire brought up the topic of building a wall along the U.S.-Canadian border during a recent town hall meeting. He says they raised some legitimate concerns, so it's a "legitimate issue for us to look at."

I've been there several times..Derby Line,Vermont. The Haskell Library is cool...built deliberately *on* the border as a gesture of international friendship.Have you,by any chance, driven along Canusa Avenue? I have...fascinating.On one small stretch the buildings/houses on one side are in Canada and on the other side are in the US.There are even houses in the area that are literally *on* the border.
Really? Terrorist have used that border to enter the US. But that doesn't really matter does it?
It’s a matter of the map logistics and who’s behind each border and what they want.
Canada isn’t suffering from corruption so bad that its people are desperate to escape by hook or by crook. Some of their policies really stink, but they stink more to conservatives who would far more likely to move to America the “right way.”
At some point, if serious Mexican border control occurs, the Canadian border may be where the majority of terrorist invasion attempts will be launched from (if not simply by coming in by boat).
But that’s not today.
Moose have been known to charge head-on into freight trains. The trains do not come out unscathed.
Canada Ping!
Lol true!
Somebody has to pay for them and if all the talent heads North .... Game over.
Sure, by all means, build it in the North, as it will be easier, less controversial, and good practice. /S
Was he asked this or not by the law enforcement officials? How does this make him a moron?
Like I said, I live just south of the BC border. Try to cross the border away from a checkpoint here.
I dare you.
Sault Sainte Marie
Whatever! It's all in the frog eaters' language anyway! ;-)
The terrorists who crossed here were caught. How many do you suppose have crossed our southern border?
“You! You on the roof! Let me see your green card!”
“Okay, hoser. I’m coming down, eh?”
Was it biting anybody’s sister?
And yes, there are only 30 million Canadians INSIDE CANADA. There are possibly that many Mexicans here now.
Get the point????
Yeeah! Canada will pay for that wall. It'll be the top wall, a Great Wall... I promise you, they'll be happy to pay.
“Really? Terrorist have used that border to enter the US. But that doesn’t really matter does it?”
The only ones that I know of came in legally through that border. When they start sneaking in, or when (and if) Canada decides to be a conduit for Mexican other people entering this country, then it will be time for a wall.
"Which one?"
"All of 'em."
It’s a legitimate issue to review security along the northern border and beef it up where and how it is needed. Probably not a wall, but perhaps fencing or even a small wall might be in order in some places.
