I didn’t hear it but you are probably right. The other night at a speech Trump said Hell about something and I thought to myself nobody else can use a few swear words and get away with it. :-)

The use of such language by a career politician would be perceived as calculated. It’s not perceived as calculated from Trump, it’s perceived as just him being himself. Some will still be offended but not nearly so many as would be the case for the career politician. More will see it as genuine than will be offended. I suspect Trump knows this.
Listen to the video. I heard friggen, a common NYC usage.
He is asking for people’s vote. He’s closing the sale. I cringe every time I see a candidate make a speech and not ask for people to vote for them. A. B. C. Always. Be. Closing.
