Julian Bond was one of the nastiest, most hate-filled people I ever heard speak.
Well, you figure when someone dies, attempts are made to say nice things about them.
There’s no way anyone goes out there and criticizes Julian Bond. Then the alternative is to just be silent.
LOL! Yup. A nasty bugger to say the least. Wonder what Dr. Ben would have to say if calypso louis were to pass. Dr. Ben seems to be very naive about the ways of the world. When someone is so centered on their job and all that goes with it, they tend to have a very limited world view.
“Julian Bond was one of the nastiest, most hate-filled people I ever heard speak.”
You’re not far off the mark. In 1986, Bond ran for an open seat in Congress (the city of Atlanta and some first-ring suburbs). He was running against John Lewis in the Democrat run-off.
Julian Bond’s invective scared the hell out of white Democrats in Atlanta, particularly in the Buckhead area. The white vote went overwhelmingly for Lewis and he edged out a victory over Bond.
Exactly. At a minimum, Dr. Carson must answer the question ... "Just what contributions to American society [does he think] Julian Bond made?"
Julian Bond was appropriately in the running for ... Americas most indecent race monger?
I don’t trust Dr Carson. He seems like a liberal that got mugged. He saw how Obamacare was going woke up from not caring about politics and said something. But everything else he says seems like is stuck in cultural Marxism and only starting to question things.
Dems seem to do it all the time.
I had a co worker who met Bond, and he said he had an instant dislike for him.
I think you’re right. Carson is still in the process of waking up. At the very least, he’s not ready right now.
Despicable and disgusting are just a few terms I have in mind for those of you who chose to disparage this man over his simple words of kindness for a prominent African American at his death.
Dr Ben is a healer. America needs all of that we can get.
I agree with you.
Slowly but surely black conservatives are comming forth accepting the reality that Obama created this hyphenation of Americans using race for his own political purposes. Which Ive been posting here in FRs for years was employed as a political tactic to defer any constitutional questioning action of the 1st branch by the 2nd branch of government.
Here is what they’re saying

The sad part is we do have a black candidate now in second place in current polling running for POTUS who has yet to speakout on this matter. Until he does Carson deserves no consideration to be POTUS
No doubt a fine surgeon and I’m not disparaging him. To me he’s too naive to run the whole show. To call julie anne bond a prominent African American, is a stretch for me. He may have been prominent but a divider from my view point.
Yeesh... While I give Dr. Carson the benefit of the doubt with regard to his skills as a physician, I don't see any evidence to support this lofty proclamation.
Why is it that there's a clamor to deify individuals who decide to run for the presidency? We're kind of used to hearing it from the 'other' side, what with Hillary being 'the top female lawyer in the coutry' and Obama being the 'smartest, most-qualified candidate ever, ad nauseum.
Does our side have to join the hyperbole wars, too?
Agree - totally.

Words matter. Carson could have been respectful of someone’s death without making that person something that they are not. No Carson in the White House.
I'm sure Julian Bond helped an old lady cross the street, or fed a homeless person, at least once or twice in his life. And I'm sure that's what Ben Carson was referring to.
There's no need to get riled up about a totally generic expression of sympathy in this instance.
“Dr Ben is a healer.”
Yes he is, and he was a good one.
Bond was an evil POS, and nothing can change this.
Yeah, he’s too Colin Powellish for me, too.
But Julian Bond was organizing for civil rights in the early ‘60s in the South—when civil rights needed organizing.
