A former White House fellow has a unique proposal to take affirmative action to a whole new level. He wants to give votes cast by African-Americans a greater weight than those cast by non-blacks.
So much for “one man, one vote.”
“Racial reconciliation is impossible without some kind of broad-based, systemic reparations,” career Naval officer and PhD candidate Theodore R. Johnson wrote in The Washington Post. “But if a pecuniary answer can’t fix the structural disadvantage — and it can’t — what can?”
Johnson proposes that each black vote count as five-thirds of a vote, flipping around the old constitutional provision that counted slaves as three-fifths of a person.
Johnson thinks this is going to bring the races together?
“A five-thirds compromise would imbue African Americans with a larger political voice that could be used to fight the structural discrimination expressed in housing, education, criminal justice and employment,” he wrote. “Allowing black votes to count for 167 percent of everyone else’s would mean that 30 million African American votes would count as 50 million, substituting super-votes for the implausible idea of cash payments.”(continued)

IOW, “Blacks are the only group we can deliver consistently, so let’s give them super-votes! Well, college kids, but they don’t vote half the time so they don’t really count.”
Well, I guess I’ll be exempt from that law. A member of my family died in the Civil War, and my great grandfather rescued some former slaves after he fought to free them and brought a former couple home with him , got them a home right across the street from him and also got him a job. Twenty years later they were still their neighbors.

Exemption from withholding tax for 50 years. I like that. Don’t take anything out of the paychecks. That way all that would have been normally withheld toward prospective income tax payments and normally taken out toward income tax each paycheck is payable instead as a lump sum on every April 15th

General rule: anyone who uses a word like pecuniary instead of a simpler word (say, monetary in this case) is not trying to get their ideas across clearly. Instead, they are trying to hide their ideas behind big words. Baffling with BS, as it were.
Ignore anyone who does this. If you cannot then restate what they said in as few syllables possible. Nothing makes a self-important jackass like this windbag more aggravated than to hear their puffed up words reduced to:
“You think money isn’t enough to fully repay slavery so you want black votes to count for more than white votes, right”?
They hate it when you do that. So do that.

Slavery was indefensible, but it was a role nonetheless; today too many have none but as pawns for new socialist masters. Slaves had value.
