Something about him is not resonating with the voters right now. I said some time ago that if you could put Ted into Rubio's body it would make a big difference. It shouldn't matter but it does.

#1. Trump
#2. Cruz
No one else has a chance to win the general election. Trump can easily do it Cruz is iffy.

And one of them is that his base (FR) has members who choose to support a less conservative candidate. Ask yourself why they would do that, then launch into a hissy fit maybe that will get them back on the Cruz or Lose train.

That might help - to me he does not look trustworthy.

Cruz would make one of, if not the best V.P.s in the nation’s history IMO.

We have since Reagans 1984 election, not fielded a Conservative Nominee. And we didn't field any before him either. Ford, Nixon and Eisenhower were moderates. Goldwater was a libertarian.

Drew68, you’re leaning in the right direction, but I’d rather see him be with Trump for 8, then be president for 8, and then move to the SCOTUS.
He would be an incredible asset to Trump, advising on SCOTUS and Congressional matters. He’s also a strong Constitutionalist, which could keep Trump from making mistakes.
I think Trump is the right guy, but I don’t claim he’s perfect. These two make an incredible team. Trump teaches him how to be a great CEO, and Cruz teaches him how to deal effectively with Congress and the SCOTUS.
Tell me you wouldn’t want Cruz there advising Trump when the first, second, third openings come up.

True, people think that because of Reagan, the GOP has always been a conservative party. That is not the case. Reagan was an outlier.
To: Drew68
Agreed. As I look back, I realize I voted for a number of men I would have a great deal of problems with today.

Having Rubio ahead of Trump makes me wonder if the rest is solid - don't know the guy so it could be possible that he's following Erick's lead and paying some sort of "service" to Cruz in order to assuage folks while they figure ways to trash Trump.
I agree that Cruz should be the #1 choice though.....GO CRUZ!!!

So he’d be no different than most Republicans? Wisconsin isn’t nearly as important as Ohio and Florida. The labor thing could hurt him in Ohio though, but it isn’t like any other Republican would be viewed as better on that issue by those who would care.
