Ken Burns (transcribed):
"We pretend that we are in some post-racial society. We're not. The Onion magazine got it right when he [Obama] was inaugurated, "Black man given worst job in the world."
What we've seen is a kind of reaction to this. The Birther movement, of which Donald Trump is one of the authors of is another politer way of saying the "N" word. It's just more sophisticated, and a little bit more clever. He's other. He's different.
What's actually other and different about him? It turns out that it's the same old thing---the color of his skin."

STUNNINGLY ignorant and dishonest statement.
Is it beneath Burns to make an incendiary comment like that to publicize the upcoming airing of the new & improved Civil War series?
The Canadians are not that stupid.
++++
Maybe they that smart.
What if a lot of wealth and tax paying capability moves with that immigration?
And note, I’m talking about an immigration that would not upset the current Canadian demographics and/or cultural heritage. That’s a big difference from what is happening in the U.S.
If Burns did a documentary on the Wright Brothers he would find a way to insert white racism into the narrative.
Of course! Didn’t he do a documentary on the experimental Negro Volunteer Flight Corps? I believe that was decades before the Wright Bros “invented” manned flight, no?
I know there was a documentary on the Negro Astronaut program...
Agreed the donald is just now getting a taste of how political spin and massive Dbm lying works.
Thats ok, The Donald is seeing the MSM use their best in season plays in the early “ political pre-season”.... That will make him even better when he gets them “ moderating “ a debate.....
Even when he doesn’t have the detailed facts to counter. His “ everyday” language and responses are good enough to throw them off, and cause people to say “ at least I understood “ what he said.
Also, these so called “ intellects” for the most part have never had to manage anything substantial in their lives other than their look, hairdo, and makeup
Ditto, Bray. Outstanding job!
I was at the Mobile, AL Trump event. A day of thunder storms, heat and humidity failed to keep aproximately 30,000 supporters at home. The weather was threatening until late afternoon. I truly believe Donald Trump cares about what has happened to this country, he certainly has given me a sense of hope. If only you all could have been there.
Thank you for this link! Opened my eyes!
I have to agree. I don’t know what happened but Walker is not the same candidate he was before. It’s most disappointing. I still like him but I’m now looking around at the others with a more serious eye.
“...both of them repeat over and over that Trump will NOT be the Republican nominee. They said this with frightening certainty. “
______________________________________________________________________________
Yes, I watched these two GOPe operatives (Castellanos & Black) spouting the GOPe talking points about Trump. When they both emphatically said the ‘Trump will not be the nominee’, I had the impression that they knew something...maybe they have some dirt on him that could knock him out, maybe the fix is in, or worse?
This goes to show that these election decisions are probably controlled by a handful of the powerful, and Trump is upsetting their apple cart!
Watching Kimberly Guilfoyle cover it if he runs will be interesting.
Walker had a good position on immigration when he linked it to American workers. I suspect that the GOPe gave him the message to tone it down. And no doubt, the Koch brothers didn't like it either.
Now Walker will not comment on immigration except to say that nothing else should be discussed until the border is secure.
Yes that column( and others by Sundance) opened my eyes too.
GOPe are going to ram Bush down our throats, whether we like it or not.
What they haven’t bargained for is that Trump is a street fighter. He will fight back.
God bless you! I’m up by Auburn. I’m sorry I couldn’t be there, too!
kabar,
What is the “Current Population Survey?” I LOVE their charts, and would like to explain the sourcing when I forward them to interested parties.
Thanks
I’ve heard the same comments about cruz that’s one of the reasons why I’m taking a closer look.
Stuffy is a tiny Little mutt. he didn’t really want an answer he’s playing the gotcha game. that will never end with him
The Current Population Survey (CPS) is a monthly survey of households conducted by the Bureau of Census for the Bureau of Labor Statistics. It provides a comprehensive body of data on the labor force, employment, unemployment, persons not in the labor force, hours of work, earnings, and other demographic and labor force characteristics.
Funny you should mention that. that was the excuse. that they were doing inside research 0n the CFR but the big question is does that really fly or not
