Perhaps, but they said the same thing of Andrew Jackson’s voters and of William Harrison’s voters and of Teddy Roosevelt’s voters. Every time in American history there has been a major electoral change in which the elites get bounced, accusations are hurled against the voters that they are “just stupid.”

Considering who we have had in the WH for the past 6 1/2 years, I’d say voters can be stupid. That applies, of course, only to liberals.

There are parallels aren’t there? Teddy is whom I think of.

He did well tonight, it is a stump speech interspersed with items of the day. There are still things he says that should be throwaway and things that are less than neutral, just don’t need to be said.
