Perhaps, but they said the same thing of Andrew Jackson’s voters and of William Harrison’s voters and of Teddy Roosevelt’s voters. Every time in American history there has been a major electoral change in which the elites get bounced, accusations are hurled against the voters that they are “just stupid.”
