They were on vacation so they were not in uniform. The Minister of the Interior has thanked them for their courage and the papers and airwaves are flooded with thank you’s from the French people. One of our men was flown by helicopter to the CHU hospital at Lille and the other less seriously wounded is being treated at the hospital in Arras. There was an Englishman wounded as well according to reports, but nothing further on him. Evidently our Marines ( one about 30 years old and the other about 40 ) heard someone in the toilet loading a weapon. They recognized the sounds and jumped him when he came out shooting. One jumped him and the other clobbered him in the neck. Some reports say he had an AK47 and 6 mags of 30 rounds as well as a knife. Others say he had more small arms in the backpack. In the morning, Figaro will probably have a more accurate report, but that is the essential of what’s on the news here now.
