Redskins President Bruce Allen says the team will not change their name even if it prevents them from getting a new stadium, CBS Sports reported.
If changing the name Redskins would get them a new stadium, should the team change their name? one radio host asked another.
The flustered commentator responded, Wait again?
The host then rephrased the question: Their team president says they will not change their name should they do it?
No theyre not changing their name, the commentator said with certainty.
This came as no surprise as the team has been asked several times if they will change their name and logo, which depicts a Native American man with dark red skin and a feather in his hair.
The team, not willing to bow to the politically correct agenda, has refused time and time again and this threat of not getting a new stadium does not seem to affect President Bruce Allens stance on the issue.
It is always refreshing to see someone standing for what they believe in and getting the support they need. As the host and commentator discuss, they dont need the public money for the stadium and at the moment, there is not a need for a change of venue.
If that ever becomes the case, the will see about it then but based on who Bruce Allen is, I dont see him ever backing down on this issue.
I thought my precious Raiders may going to that city what happen Texas don’t want them LOL!
OHH my cousin was messing with me over Fourth of july holiday she ask me SO when you guys take my San Diego Chargers
I told her soon
She call me b***h
Why do the Redskins need a new stadium when their current one has only been open roughly a decade an a half?
I thought the Caps played hockey.
No, "Albuquerque" is too hard to spell.
They were the Washington Senators back until the early 1970’s or late 1960’s, going by memory.
You might be younger than me, but the original Washington Senators left in 1961 and became the Minnesota Twins.
That incarnation of the Senators was terrible, their last World Series, if I’m not mistaken, was 1933...
A few years later, the American league expanded and issued a new franchise in Washington who took the name Senators.
And that incarnation of the Senators was even worse...
