For planet Earth, no other month was as hot as this past July in records that date back to the late 1800s, NOAA says. And the globe is well on its way to having its hottest year on record.
NOAA, NASA and the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) have published data that show that it was the hottest July on record. Since July is on average the planets hottest month, temperatures this past month likely* reached their highest point in the history of instrumental records. NOAA calculates that Julys average global temperature of 61.86 degrees was 0.14 degrees warmer than the previous warmest month on record, July 1988.

Pull my other leg.
And no one knows what the temperature is supposed to be at this point in time....according to God!! In other words, it is what it is.
And last January was the coldest on record, and and and
didn’t NOAA just get caught again fudging data ?

(I know it was just posted, but what the heck)
Not only that, we somehow know what temps were the thousands of years before that. Ain't technology grand?
Congratulations to all fellow Earthlings. We have once again made history just like when we elected Obonzo. It’s “historical!”
No it wasn’t.
>>For planet Earth, no other month was as hot as this past July in records that date back to the late 1800s,
And they laugh at creationists for saying that the earth is 6000 years old? These idiots think its less than 150.
>>have published data that show that it was the hottest July on record
According to my data*, August 812 AD was the hottest on record.
*Accurate, but not factual. Accuracy is based solely upon my feelings.
These scientific bureaucrats are almost as big liars as politicians.
Cannot wait to hear Bastardi’s commentary about this on Sat.
I guess the humor eluded you.
Nowwww, Ricky - There you go again!!!!!
Sure wasn’t the hottest July in my neck of the woods, maybe someone’s but not here. Reminds me of that old lesson to teach about averages. Stick one foot in boiling water and one foot in freezing water, and you are at a tolerable 120-ish degrees. Any volunteers who want to illustrate this lesson, please come forward.
If you remember, the Great Lakes had virtually 100% ice coverage for the first time in something like 40 years in 2013-14. It was June before the last of the ice melted.
I’d say we had some pretty cold winters of late. Remember “Polar Vortex?”
Oh, and NOAA has already decided that this year will be the hottest on record. Data, they don't need no stinking data!
Excellent! Post of the decade.
Liars. I wore a light jacket on my birthday... Leaves are falling in August.... Again.
This is ridiculous. These mainstream media outlets keep reporting the hottest day/week/month/year and then revise the information later, quietly. They have no credibility.
