The Center for Medical Progress, which released its seventh video Wednesday, didn’t immediately return a call and email seeking comment. In an earlier statement, the Irvine, Calif., group said it would contest any attempts to suppress its free-speech rights. It also said in a statement on its Facebook page that it “follows all applicable laws in the course of our investigative work.”
The letter reflects a growing offensive from state and congressional Democrats in their support of Planned Parenthood. The center is under investigation in two states, and a group of congressional Democrats has called on the Justice Department to launch a probe into whether the antiabortion group broke any laws, such as recording without consent.
Antiabortion advocates have said the videos show Planned Parenthood is illegally profiting from fetal tissue from abortions that it provides for research. Planned Parenthood said it has broken no laws, and that the videos are heavily edited and part of a smear campaign.
Planned Parenthood is also under investigation by congressional committees and some states.
The letter from Mr. Cummings says that the center’s “disturbing actions” raise questions about whether members of Congress were made aware of the center’s potentially illegal actions but took no action before the videos went public. It names Rep. Tim Murphy (R., Pa.), chairman of the House Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee, as one member who was aware of potentially illegal activities by the center weeks before the videos went viral

Read the full article, and see how many times the WSJ uses the term “anti-abortion” instead of pro-life. Then ask yourself why we should consider them “conservative.”
All the tapes would be entered into evidence in any legal action. They’d all have to be played. It would take an insanely hardhearted jury to convict.
Planned Parenthood and its business partners are exposed as breaking multiple laws and the government is worried about the Center for Medical Progress.
I feel compelled to make one small correction to your otherwise spot-on post.
Fetuses do not gasp or twitch in laboratory pans. If it is alive and outside of the womb, it is a BABY.
The pro-abortionists use the term ‘fetus’ to make what is happening sound more clinical and less repulsive. What is on these tapes is murder, plain and simple. The justification for the atrocities committed during abortions has been that it is a ‘fetus’, because it is still inside the womb, which is a scientifically correct although morally vacant argument.
Alive outside of the womb, however it got there, this ‘blob of tissue’ is officially, scientifically and LEGALLY a living human person, infant, premature baby. These people are dissecting living human beings. People. Babies.
I think we need to correct this misinformation at every opportunity. Simply reminding people that this is now a preterm infant and no longer a fetus turns the tables in a way that is impossible to dispute (although you know they will).
