Maine Drug Enforcement Agency agents revealed yesterday that EBT cards (debit cards that are loaded with funds for welfare programs, like SNAP and TANF) are being used as currency to buy drugs. In the past 11 months, MDEA agents have found 40 EBT cards in 25 drug enforcement operations.

Hmmm. Well 40 cards in 25 operations doesn't seem like a lot. Then again, apparently people don't have much say in how their tax dollars are used anyway. Cigs, dog food, beer-----------nope. Dope---------Yup.

I still think random drug testing for welfare recipients is a good idea. If they object, they should quit taking the benefits.

They can use them at casinos and on cruise ships. Why would drug purchases be excluded?

In a related story it has been reported that a bear was seen in the nearby woods, and in the opinion of numerous experts said bear had defecated in those woods.

Any kind of government benefit that is worth something can be traded for cash to buy drugs or anything else. Student loans, Section 8 housing, veteran’s pensions, disability checks and so on.

Just another way to buy welfare votes — standard DemocRat operating procedure. I wonder if the White House is using their EBT cards???

I read a story about a small town in Kentucky where everyone takes their EBT card to food store location #1, uses the entire amount to purchase pallets of soft drinks, takes the soft drinks to store location #2, gets 60 cents on the dollar for a buy back.

Common knowledge. Generally the way it goes is the addict will sell their card for about 50 cents on the dollar. they’ll report the cad lost at the end of the month and they’ll get a brand new card. A few months later, they ‘lose’ it again and voila the circle continues.

Well, if people buy drugs, they’re less likely to get and keep work.

If they don’t work, they must be dependent on teh government.

If they’re dependent on the government, they’re under the control of the progressives.

And that is the entire point of the exercise.
