Appearing on NBC News’ Meet the Press on Sunday, Trump drew a contrast with candidates who have promised to cancel the deal on their first day in office. It would be very difficult, he said, to “rip up” the deal, since much of it takes effect whether Congress likes it or not. However, he said, “I would police that contract so tough that they dont have a chance. As bad as the contract is, I will be so tough on that contract.”
Trump’s analysis tracks closely to what several experts have advised, including Harvard Law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz, who has recently written that since Congress can do little to stop Obama from ignoring its will, it should react by passing an authorization for the use of military force in advance of any violations by Iran.

Not substantive?
Three weeks ago, Trump told “Morning Joe” that many of his stances were those of a Democrat.
That’s all I need right there, even I knew nothing else about Trump.
So if you ask me, you’re the one who deserves “pushback” for supporting a Democrat reality show celebrity.
Best of luck with that to you.
You have yet to comment on why you are critical of Trump’s statement on Iran. Again, you have only one argument - ‘Trump is a phony’. We’ve been debating whether he’s a phony or not for the last 2 months around here. Most people have come to their own conclusions by now. I’m not going to rehash all the reasons I disagree with you on that, but you’re certainly entitled to your opinion. But, again, that’s your sole argument against Trump. Just be honest about it. When you come onto a thread about Trump’s comments on Iran, and don’t even comment on the substance of his remarks, then you’re not being substantive.
Forget it. Trump jersey chasers are so convinced he’s “the right man for the job!!!!!” That they will justify anything - ANYTHING - he says as the height of strategic political brilliance.
Iran deal? “Well, he can’t do anything about it once it’s in place...”
Planned Parenthood funding with tax dollars? “Well, he says that as long as there’s no abortions...”
Success of socialized health care in Canada? “Well, they seem to like it...”
What’s next? I don’t have a clue, but I do know one thing - there will be FReepers who back it up 100%.
Funny thing is, we’re the ones who are supposedly “deranged”.
No, it’s not my sole argument against Trump. I guess you skipped my previous posts on the thread, or you’re reading them through Trump-colored glasses.
For weeks now, I (and others) have been posting reams about Trump’s liberalism, his history, etc. You guys plug your ears, shut your eyes, and hum loudly.
Bottom line...BOTTOM line....Trump is a self-admitted Democrat, and if you want to put your trust in a Democrat’s plan, that’s your mistake.
I’ll stick with the Constitutional conservative who understands that the Iran deal is an unqualified disaster and that it must be voided.
Agree, unfortunately.
You should see the transcript of Trump’s Sunday appearance on “Meet the Press.”
He said he’s fine with affirmative action.
When asked if he donated to Planned Parenthood, he could only stammer over and over, “I don’t know.” Now donating to PP was anathema for Mitt Romney, and rightly so, but Trump would be excused with, “He’s a billionaire! He can’t keep track of all that!”
Trump also said that private companies should not be able to fire someone because they are homosexual. I assume that would extend to transgenderism.
Now, my father-in-law owns a business in a blue-collar field, and the business is located in a rural area and staffed by country folks, mostly. So that means if some man in a dress and makeup flounced in and demanded a job in the front office, Trump would deny my FIL’s right not to hire him based on the fact that his freakishness would turn off business.
So a person can tell me all day that I’m “deranged” for not supporting that liberal clown...it’s fine with me. And it’s not going to change my decision.
There are other ways to interpret the facts you use to “prove” that Trump is a Democrat. You’re entitled to come to your own conclusions. I’ll stick with mine. Maybe you’re right, but I don’t think so. Time will tell.
I've already told you that he went on "Morning Joe" three weeks ago and SAID that a lot of his positions are those of a Democrat.
I don't have to "prove" or "interpret" anything, LOL. He SAID it himself.
Why don't you believe him?
Also, you need to get your terminology straight. Trump is a registered Republican. That’s a fact. He would have to be, in order to run in the primaries. You’re opinion has no effect on that.
He was originally a Republican years ago, switched to Democrat, and has now switched back to Republican. Those are simple facts. If you can’t acknowledge them, it reveals how emotionally based, your arguments are.
If you want to make the case that Trump’s positions are not conservative or that they are, but that we can’t trust that he really believes them, then fine. You’re free to make your case, and I’m free to make my case that you’re wrong. But to accuse Trump of being a Democrat is demonstratively false.
Yes, I understand he said that. That doesn’t make him a Democrat. Obviously, he’s not. Again, the facts thing. The intelligent question would be to ask, on what issues is he more in line with the Democrat position, and on what issues is he more in line with the Republican position, or more importantly, on what issues is he liberal and on what issues is he conservative? There are a few issues where he leans to the left a bit, but on most issues, he leans right.
He said it.
In a feat of towering irony, you accuse me of being "emotional" for relating that simple fact because you just can't face it.
You'll take anything else he says as gospel, but when he tells you his positions are those of a Democrat, it's denial time.
It really is a phenomenon, the way you guys react. When it's over, I imagine it's going to be like waking up from a drunk.
LOL!
“Yes, I understand he said that. That doesnt make him a Democrat. Obviously, hes not.
LOL!
