Congressman Behind Birthright Citizenship Bill Gives Thumb’s Up to Trump Plan

A congressman who introduced legislation earlier this year to nix birthright citizenship praised Donald Trump’s immigration strategy as a “very, very positive document.”

“It’s bold, it’s strong, it’s broad. It covers most of the things you want to cover,” Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) told CNN today.

King said his birthright citizenship legislation, should it pass, “will be litigated, there isn’t any doubt about it.” The bill has 27 co-sponsors and is sitting in committee.

“I think it is constitutionally sound to pass legislation and end birthright citizenship. There aren’t many countries in the world that have that policy,” he added.

The congressman said he was “curious, for some time” about how Trump would get Mexico to pay for the wall. “As you know, I’ve advocated for a long time for a fence or a wall, or fence on the southern border. I’m optimistic about this.”

Trump’s plan states: “Mexico must pay for the wall and, until they do, the United States will, among other things: impound all remittance payments derived from illegal wages; increase fees on all temporary visas issued to Mexican CEOs and diplomats (and if necessary cancel them); increase fees on all border crossing cards – of which we issue about 1 million to Mexican nationals each year (a major source of visa overstays); increase fees on all NAFTA worker visas from Mexico (another major source of overstays); and increase fees at ports of entry to the United States from Mexico [Tariffs and foreign aid cuts are also options]. We will not be taken advantage of anymore.”

King said the “tactics” employed in Trump’s plan “are legitimate and he’ll use more leverage in that.”

Who gives a living crap what the courts say. It’s congress’ job to naturalize citizens not the courts. If Scrotus upholds national suicide(Birthright citizenship)-— Impeach and then deport the stinkin Black robed SCUMBAGS.

FDR lost the fight...but the court was obedient to FDR afterwards.

Only two countries that I've read the U.S. and Canada.

And in the United States, it's only been happening in the last few decades since the US government has acquiesced for open borders and failed to do their Constitutional duties.

With all of what Trump is doing:

Jeff Sessions, Steve Forbes, now King....

Guess when the House and Senate comes back from vacation, our ‘puppets’ best get busy getting rid of Boehner and McConnell and put someone in there that will start building some guts of the situation when President Trump starts getting bills to them to pass...

Either that, or when they are up for re-election let them your not voting for them and why and elect someone else...

There really is no need to pass legislation. All we need to do is to force the courts to apply the law as intended. The 14th amendment never intended such a result as "anchor babies" in the first place. Here's George Will and Ann Coulter's opinion on the topic.

I want some immigration amendments. One, no birthright citizenship and no importing every family member once you get residency.

StateS’ Right to deport or contract with other states to deport illegals. Heck, I would give them the right to kick other states trouble making citizens back to the state they came from.

Amendment to secure the border with a wall with controlled access gates.

And that's when things started to go seriously down hill. Kelo was a consequence of 8 Roosevelt appointed Judges. The one remaining non Roosevelt Judge was a Liberal left over from the Previous Court.

FDR appointed so many nuts and kooks that subsequent law schools had to teach their nuttery and kookery to their graduates, and thus infected the entire legal system with that "Living Constitution" bullsh*t. Many of them kept finding new "rights" in the "Penumbras" of the 14th amendment, and we today are sadly living with the consequence of this Judicial activism.

I think we are past the point where that is even possible. I see a crash in our future.

But if we are to take a stab at it, the first thing we do is vociferously denounce the idea in every conversation on the topic which comes up.

We have to spread the meme that "Anchor Babies" was never intended to be the result of the 14th amendment. Like it or not, it is the people who speak the loudest who sway the rest whether it be toward's truth or falsehood.

We should also insist from our legislators that Judges who refuse to comply with a correct interpretation of the law should be impeached and removed from office.

But I think the crash will get us first.

Amendment XIV

Section 1.

All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside. . . .

Section 5.

The Congress shall have power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article.

Not much to debate there. Simple legislation will end birthright citizenship by defining what "subject to the jurisdiction thereof" That is what Steve King, a true hero along with Jeff Sessions, is trying to do.
