The infamously untrustworthy Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has furthered its reputation as one of America’s most beloved hypocrites with its latest motion. It was reported on Thursday that the FDA has just approved OxyContin prescriptions for children between the ages of 11 and 16 years-old.
For those unfamiliar, OxyContin is an opiate-based pharmaceutical painkiller used to ease severe pain. Aside from being known for its powerful effects on users, it is also notorious for its widespread abuse. Its effects on the mind and body are strikingly similar to heroin, making it dangerously addictive. It typically contains anywhere between 40-160 milligrams of OxyCodone, which lasts around 12 hours thanks to its extended release. However, abusers generally crush the pills to inhale or inject them with a syringe by mixing it with water, thus receiving a dose that is meant to stretch over a 12-hour span almost instantly.
After a 2004 study was abandoned due to an apparent lack of monetary resources, the FDA announced that pediatric studies on the effects of OxyContin would be underway in order to establish whether or not this pharmaceutical version of heroin should be available for children. After a very short period of trials and research, the FDA has concluded that three years is enough time to evaluate the long-term effects of extended use of a highly potent drug in children. Keep in mind that the FDA is the same government organization that has lumped marijuana and psilocybin mushrooms into the same category as Schedule 1 narcotics, deeming them to have zero medicinal value and heightened potential for abuse (because we all know a handful of people addicted to psychedelic mushrooms, right?).

I’m guessing the current administration probably wants another psychotropic drug to be dispensed to increase gun shootings among the youth to push the anti-gun agenda. The Muslim staff in the WH probably prays daily for more mass shootings; more mass shootings like the ones in schools so they can get the numbers they need onboard to outlaw guns. They don’t care if children are killed. They just want guns out of the hands of citizens so they can’t defend themselves against the tyrants. The ends justifies the means Alinsky style. We know how they roll now. Its not far-fetched. Not anymore.
Oxy is what my ex became addicted to after surgery. Then, his teenaged son started swiping Daddy’s pills...

Ex went thru rehab TWICE to no avail, but is now married to another prescription addict so all is right in his little world. ‘Cept his teeth are all falling out. Poetic justice for a very vain man. *SMIRK*
Son went through Hell and Back and is now an Addiction Counselor and runs a half-way house.
Only a 50% recovery rate. And that’s just MY ex-family!

are you kidding me?....there will tons of feral yutes age 14 faking injuries and pain issues so they can get their hands on this...

Yep, as sure as night follows day. This is predictable and I suspect they KNOW this. ANYTHING to weaken America.
If we lose our rights as parents to refuse drugs and vaccinations that we feel are not good for our children, coercion will become a reality in the new USSA.
Wikipedia says that OxyContin is as effective against pain as morphine, with fewer side affects. If your child had cancer and was in gruesome pain and her doctor wanted prescribe OxyContin but could not because it was banned by the FDA, how would you feel? Anything can be abused, are we going to allow drug abusers to deny suffering people the benefits of a better medication?
BTW, my wife was prescribed OxyContin for pain from kidney stones. She had a prescription for six pill, over three days. After the pain passed, she stopped taking them and returned to a normal life. Though we do seem to go through a bottle of Tylenol a year around here.
Dentist gave me oxycontin after a root canal, took two and was so scared that it may be addictive I threw the rest away!
