Great catch Onix ben Carson was asked that very same question about the exception of death of the mother in relationship to abortion he said its a red herring since it almost never ever happens
That is so true, that stupid saying about the life of the mother.
Of course if a woman is pregnant and in danger of dying because of it (and just how likely is this?) she should be aborted.
No goofball would sit tall and say “Hell no, let the mother die, save the unborn child!” for God’s sake.
If you got a dollar for how often this sort of scenario happens on the planet earth you’d not be able to buy a Starbucks’ coffee with the money.
The way it works....and I know....you tell the doctor that without an abortion you might commit suicide for the fear.
Something like that.
The doctor then says it’s for the life of the mother who will kill herself if we don’t abort her baby now three days from birth.
Of course Carson knows this. It’s what he does after all and may he keep pointing out the silliness of this argument and how it essentially pees upon your feet and tells you it’s raining.
Excellent!! I really like Dr Carson, too.
Prior to Roe v Wade, my own cherished DrO delivered thousands of babies and never once came across a "life of the mother," incident.
By the time "life of the mother," applies, the baby is almost always viable outside the womb.
By there logic we should outlaw abortion since more mothers die from botched abortions than ever die from childbirth.
Ben Carson - doing the rape, incest or health of the mother thing is a total bogus argument. Carson is so right. Those things happen so incredibly seldom that they should not be a factor in the argument. They’re nothing but a red herring designed to put pro-lifers off balance.
Ben Carson handled it just right.
