Given the proclivity of Republican politicians to deride the federal government and the bureaucrats that fill its ranks, it stands to reason Democrats would be more likely to seek out Uncle Sam for employment.
And that is true. But only barely.
In a recent survey conducted by Government Business Council, the research arm of Government Executive Media Group, 44 percent of respondents identified as Democrats or Democratic-leaning independents, while 40 percent identified as Republicans or Republican-leaning independents. The remaining respondents were undecided or did not identify with either party, though a plurality of them said they were conservatives.
Top-level management is more likely to lean to the left, with 49 percent of GS-15 and Senior Executive Service employees identifying or leaning Democrat and 40 percent Republican. Respondents serving as GS-14s and below saw a 42/38 split toward Democrats.
Federal employees appear to be as partisan as the rest of the nation; just 5 percent of GOP feds approve of their ultimate boss -- President Obama -- while 91 percent disapprove. About 8 in 10 Democratic respondents gave Obamas performance positive reviews, while 11 percent disapproved

Yes, but what is the Republican split between RINOs and Conservatives?
Ah, but there is a difference in the mind of the voters! Rat voters want more feral gummint. We want less. Rat voters keep getting what they voted for. We keep getting lied to and cheated. Hence, Trump. Say what you will but it seems to me Trump became a billionaire by giving folks what they paid for. Perhaps that is a model the GOP should consider...
Most of us are nonpartisan, regardless of what we believe. Many people in my office are staunchly conservative, but nobody belongs to a political party, at least as far as I know. There are others who are pretty liberal, but again, as far as I know, they don’t belong to a party either.
The thing about it is, we don’t support one party over another, and while many people don’t like the current administration, you have to either accept the direction you’re given, or you have to leave. So far, in my Department, we have not reached that point. We continue to do what we do to support our troops.
The Only Candidate Making Federal Workforce Issues a Campaign Centerpiece Is Climbing the Polls.
Anybody have any other light to shed? Seems like a push poll/article to change perceptions. There is no way Conservatives and Liberals are balanced in the entrenched federal bureaucracy.
I don't see that they've had any problems ousting and ostracizing whistleblowers who should not only enjoy the benefits of their Labor Unions, but also the added whistleblower laws.
Dubious? It’s outright lying. Not sure why.
I am “nonpartisan” in my long trod road to finally resolving that there isn’t any difference between Republican and Democrat at the leadership level. They’re all scum.
I am Conservative - strict Constitutionalist and Rule of Law and ENFORCEMENT. I believe those powers not specifically retained (with concise written delineation in the Constitution) by the Federal Government are left to the States to decide.
Remind me again when Trump said anything about not growing feral government?
,,,,,, the silent majority I suppose . What good are they if they just sit on their @$$e$ , draw their pay and then say and do nothing while Rome is in flames . The meaning of PUBLIC SERVANT has changed to public career employee .
He hasn’t. But he has said “keep families together, deport them.” That right there is gonna put him over the top. Just the fear of him will send half of them back because they know things will be better there for the first to go. Late comers always suck hind tit.
Legally, there’s no way to deport families all together when some of them are citizens. I don’t like this, and I totally oppose the anchor baby thing...not sure why that was ever a law....but we are where we are, and Trump and his followers need to admit that this deport but keep them together is just a fantasy that’s never going to happen.
There is something called the legal left, and there will be lawyers out of the woodwork for every single one....just not possible. Makes great sound bite, but not possible.
He can offer families the opportunity to stay together.
Yes, but that doesn’t stop the deportation legal problems with those deemed citizens, regardless of how dubious that dadgummed anchor baby thing is. And FTR, when HE says that, it’s worth discussing. Until then, it’s your projection on how you hope he’ll handle it.
