Thank you for the link. Just watched the entire press conference (about 16 minutes) and I've never seen anything like it before from a presidential candidate, and that includes Ronald Reagan, who was always great with the press.

Trump was sharp as a tack and had an instant answer for everything, interspersing his remarks with humor and wit. This is not the robotic scripted sound bites we are used to from a presidential candidate.

But don't take my word for it. Go to the video linked above. If Trump continues handling the press as effortlessly like this, nobody is going to stop him.

By the way, that 15-minute press conference Trump gave was more substantive than everything we've heard so far from Shrillary Clinton. I don't think people quite understand yet. If it should be Trump vs Clinton in the general, we will see probably the biggest landslide in history - in favor of Trump.

Trump was great. I wish they had shown the kids getting on the helicopter.

And he doesn’t use a arrogant press agent. He does it himself. How refreshing is accessibility!

This is not the robotic scripted sound bites we are used to from a presidential candidate.

At one of his events yesterday (the one CSPAN covered), he made an off-the-cuff remark: Anyone who is running for president should not be allowed to use a teleprompter.

Of course, that brought some giggles and applause.

I was glad to hear him start to "unpack" his approach to policy today, explaining that you don't go into a negotiation and reveal your entire 14 bullet points at the start; he says the press wants "particulars" of his policy positions, that he is going to be rolling out papers on policy during the week, but that the people understood what he meant when he said "Mexico is sending" that he meant illegals, and that the people got several other similar points that the press is trying to muddle.

Most importantly, he says the people who support him understand what he has done and created, and that they trust him to do great deals to rebuild the country. He criticized the other candidates for being beholden to lobbyists and fundraisers, and he said he had just turned down an offer of $5million dollars from a lobbyist — "I don't need it; I don't want it; because two years down the road you'll call me back and want something for it, for a client of yours." He said Jeb and others are not able to "do it from the heart."

This is amazing. Keep it up, Donald.

Indeed. Around 2/3 of the way through I thought, “Such an amazing communicator, I haven’t seen anything like this since Reagan. Wait ... Reagan wasn’t THIS good!”

Watched an interview with Gingrich on Newsmax who said he’s never seen anyone who stays on offense as much as Trump. He said he turns any question around immediately into an attack on his opponents. I think that didn’t look so good when he almost “threatened” Megyn Kelly in the debate. But it’s a skill he’s using to good effect in these press conferences.

Agree with everything you’ve said. I’d love to see a Dem get whipped in the general by Trump. It would be cherry on top if it were Hillary.
