Wasn’t Kerry in Viet Nam with a personal film crew?

If Kerry doesn't know about the caste system,
that Wonka has destroyed his watershed,
that millions of Indians still have to rely on draft animals as their major motive force,
that they are still setting women on fire to get dowries back,
that ultrasound evidence of female babies is the number one reason for abortions...

How DARE you question him! He's a Boston Brahmin and is WAY smarter than you. Just ask him. Besides, the Iranians promised they wouldn't nuke Boston, so he's good with that.

To be fair India is doing extremely well by the standards of third-world emerging nations. When the collapse of their USSR patron forced them to dive fully into capitalism things began changing in a hurry. They are doing a fairly decent job of educating their people, particularly women. Living standards are rising, and they’ve managed to maintain a stable democracy since ‘47. We should actually encourage more third-world countries to emulate them.

You can compliment them without painting it all unicorns and lollipops like that idiot Kerry. It is still a land with crushing poverty.

Except for the first 40 years of that when it stood as a beacon of Socialist failures.

It was also a longtime ally of the Soviet Union.

Calcutta slums versus US slums.

Is India perfect? Far from it BUT, consider how the average Indian's life has changed versus the average American's (and Canadian's life) in the past 40 years. Consider the explosive growth in Christianity over that period. Officially, it is 2.3% but, including house churches, it is estimated at 6%, or 60 million and growing! in Canada and the US, it has imploded, not exploded! THAT is a spiritual explanation why the West (The US,Canada, Western Europe, Australia, etc.) is failing and the South is surging financially. (India, China, SE Asia, etc.)

Christian faith also provides an escape from caste stereotyping.

Hindu theories about karma pretty much lock a person into a low fate. The way to win that game is to stop playing it.

Yes they do, even the railroad workers. For instance, this guy is the conductor.
