CHICAGO (CBS) Convicted murderer and child molester Richard Dobeski was arrested at the Indianapolis Central Library on Thursday.
Dobeski, 67, served nearly 40 years in prison for stabbing and strangling two children ages 3 and 6 in 1964, when he was 16. He was released on parole in 2003, and then later went back to prison for molesting a boy in Westville in 2007.
He was released last Thursday from prison in Northwest Indiana after serving his sentence on the molestation conviction.
The details surrounding his arrest were not immediately available, but Dobeski had seven days to register as a sex offender or face going back behind bars.

Check your local sex offender registry, chances are it's full of people who have served there time quite safely. Thanks to almost all prisons segregating sex offenders.
Geoffrey Dahmer.
Put a bullet right behind his ear. They can’t “cure” these losers. The standard conviction is sodomizing underage girls.
Our county (small) has about 25 of these losers running around. They are put into Section 8 housing, on welfare and food stamps when they get out. 3/4 of them violate their parole in some way and return to jail within two years on average.
A few are living in FEMA type trailers right in the DSS parking lot.
I don’t have the same reservations about capital punishment that you have but I respect your position. Either way this was entirely avoidable based on the perp’s background.
This is a Twilight Zone nation at this point....no law, no survival instinct. We are Rome on steroids.
Very often “life” does not actually mean life.
As a Christian I DO NOT have reservations about the death penalty, properly applied.
Apply liberally.
Death by scaphism for child molesters.
A sane society would make the parole board face the family of the child victim.
In some states, 40 years is considered life. Unless “without parole” was attached, he’d be released as having served his full term. Remember back in the ‘70s when they did away with the death penalty so many who were on death row got out. Of course, that didn’t turn out very well for their new victims.
If they went to prison at all.
Sex offender registries have been filled up with so many non-violent offenders, they've been rendered useless.
Indiana stopped executions in 1861 and did none for 20 years.
There have been a few child molesters killed in prison but not in any significantly greater quantities then any other criminal.
Smart move by the cops.
I can tell you that if my child was harmed, I would erase this man and then his gene line.
