Though, as Trump correctly pointed out, you can’t get rid of the IRS completely—because someone has to collect the taxes.

The United States existed as a Constitutional republic for 125 years without the IRS.

I say completely deconstruct and de-charter the Agency. Ditch the entire current tax code - all of it. Fire all who worked for them and hire new from industry. Re-invent the tax collection system from the ground up in an entirely new environment. Create in its place a new zero-based Agency that has to justify every cent of its existence. Re-hire no one from the former IRS.

Call me crazy — but I think Steven Forbes would have been a good President.

Same here, said it a long time ago. Great President, Ho-Hum candidate.

Privatize as much of the government as is possible. And then make the private sector compete to serve.

Somehow social spending (food stamps, welfare, etc) must be ratcheted down in absolute amounts.

Absolute must. Approximately 70% of the budget is entitlements. I am NOT a Chris Cristie fan, but he actually brought this up during the debate.

Totally agree. Where Trump is at this time inclined now to listen to Forbes and Laffer - a wise thing for him to become better educated about I might add -- Ted Cruz by contrast has been on board with Supply side from the start.

Trump-- his Wharton education notwithstanding -- is still willing to learn more about applied Supply side theory.

Similarly, maybe with a little more learning, he'll soon realize - even as Cruz does already and has from the start -- there is nothing at all of value to women's health issues provided by Planed Parenthood.

I think Trump will be coming around -- but I'll still point out that Cruz was already there from the start.

"Privatize as much of the government as is possible. And then make the private sector compete to serve."

Obamacare, Medicare, Medicaid and the VA all go to a HSA with a "Direct Primary Care" on the low end for your everyday health care needs. Vouchers for all of the above, what you don't spend you keep, but they have to purchase it on the open market.

Replace EITC with what I mentioned as well.

Allowing you to take your SSI money and invest it yourself ( especially with the new low-cost no load Robo-Adviser firms ) would free up millennial's and they would go for it in a heartbeat.

The War Department technically went away but it was reorganized into the Department of Defense in 1949 and if anything, it is bigger than it was. The functions of the ICC were moved to the Surface Transportation Board which was created for that purpose in 1996, the same year the ICC was abolished. It technically went away but in reality it appears it was just renamed, kind of like the War Department. The point is that none of these feral gubmint departments really go away.
