GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump said on Wednesday that the nation needs a president with an Ivy League education.
I went to an Ivy League school, he said on The Hugh Hewitt Show. I was an excellent student at the Wharton School of Finance, which is the best in the world, one of the hardest to get into in the world, maybe the hardest, but maybe one of the hardest to get into, even back then.
Thats the kind of thinking our country needs, that mindset, Trump added. The fact is, thats the kind of mindset or thinking we need to beat China on trade. Theyre killing us.

Looks like a powerful well connected plutocrat from this perspective.
Sorry for the spelling errors. Typing fast. Don’t claim to be perfect.
No worries.
Plutocrat?? Are you against free market capitalism?
I say, more power to him...and his success. It’s the American Dream story.
Here is something you might want to consider:
“Trump is no conservative panacea. Many of his policy positions, past and present, are a problem, as are his generous donations to Democrats.”
“In fact, his $34,000.00 gift to Democratic campaign committees in the 2006 election cycle helped put Reid and Rep. Nancy Pelosi in power.”

Sorry to annoy you with the facts.
That’s old news, that has been discussed/rehashed, over and over.
I’m with the boss on Trump (courtesy ping)....
...Donald Trump is beginning to sound more and more like a real Republican everyday (as compared to todays run of the mill mealy-mouthed RINO statists who are passing themselves off as Republicans).
Secure the borders. Get a handle on immigration. Cut the regulations. Cut the spending. Cut the government. Cut the taxes. Make the government smarter. Get a handle on the debt. Strengthen the economy. Bring capital and jobs back to America. Strengthen our military. Make America great again! And make the world respect us again while were at it.....

You didn’t answer my question that I asked, after you called Trump a “plutocrat” (and slammed his inheritance and business success)...
Are you against free market capitalism?
Of course not.
I strongly favor free market capitalism.
Yes, I like a lot of what DT says THESE days.
It’s what he has done that troubles me. I don’t think 2006 is ancient history.
We fortunately have other choices available.
Do you regard Sen. Ted Cruz as a RINO, GOPE, or statist?
Ha! You’re kidding, right? None of the above.
I’ve worked as hard as anybody to help get my Sen Cruz elected. I’ve continued my support to his campaign with my time and $$....have a Cruz sticker on BOTH of my vehicles.
I pray that Cruz rises in the polls, and think in time he will. I VERY much appreciate the genuine alliance Sen Cruz and Trump have. I think it’s the winnable combination that will #MakeAmericaGreatAgain.
Both Sen Cruz and Donald Trump believe in free markets and capitalism as two of the facets that have helped to make this country as great as we are. They both love America and are on the same page to preserve and rebuild opportunity for ALL Americans.
Great. We agree on something. I regard Sen. Cruz as a vastly more reliable and provable conservative than DT.
If DT becomes the GOP nominee I will support him unconditionally despite my personal reservations.
I live in CA. Our primary is among the last, in June. So the nominee is usually decided long before I get to vote. And because the People’s Republic of CA is so blue in general elections, my vote doesn’t count for much anyways.
If you strongly favor free market capitalism then please don’t slam Trump for his inheritance (which was earned through his dad’s old fashioned hard work* and free market capitalism) or his business success - which includes a strong portfolio of real estate...including multiple, top of the line golf courses.
Berating Trump, or any other successful business person, for their success is not conservative.
*Trump began working with his dad, in the real estate business, at a very young age...learning the ropes. I love American generational success stories, don’t you?
Glad to see we can agree :)
I’m in TX, so we’re pretty much in the same primary boat.
Time is wasting to turn this ship around. I think we can agree on that, as well :)
Inherited money doesn’t bother me in the least.
Wish I had some!
NO TIME for worrying about either modesty or political correctness.
Trump is telling it like it is.
So does Cruz.
“And who was that guy that went to some obscure school. What was it called. Oh, yeah, Eureka College.”
Exactly! We need a guy who can think...at least, think of something besides himself. I’ll tolerate an Ivy League bastard because I may end up with no other choice, but I’ve never met one that I respected personally. I’ve certainly seen no sign they understand anything about the real world.
And Trump’s business has been real estate, starting with his Daddy’s millions. That is a very different world from running a gas station or starting a construction company.
On second thought, someone would have to pass away in my family for me to receive inherited money.
So I am happier being poor.
