Oakland police shot and killed a 24-year-old armed robbery suspect after a car chase Wednesday that ended in a crash near downtown, authorities said.
The shooting, the third involving city police to result in a fatality this year, prompted protesters to march through downtown Wednesday night, breaking windows and setting fires.
The name of the slain suspect wasn’t released. Police shot the man after he collided with a car and tried to carjack another vehicle, police said.
The man was shot by three officers when he “advanced towards the officers while holding a pistol in his hand,” said Chief Sean Whent. The 9mm semiautomatic handgun was loaded and had been reported stolen, the chief said.

It seems we are at a point where any police shooting of a black criminal suspect, no matter the circumstances, is automatically considered to be illegal and a crime against the black community and all that.
Correct. They should change their slogan to “black criminal lives matter” because that’s the only ones they hitch their wagons to.

It seems as if, in any police altercation with black suspects, that if anything goes wrong, there is a presumption that the police are at fault somehow. How did we get to this point??

I get the impression that black lives matter only when shot by white policemen. Black lives taken by other blacks in drug deals gone bad or gang violence don’t count.
And this only undermines their cause, in my opinion. Only certain specific rare cases of police shootings of blacks are being blown all out of proportion to make some half assed political statement. But since it’s a liberal political statement, the media is carrying their water and their message.
Has anyone heard in the media how rare these police shootings are? Has anyone heard that 93% of black shooting victims are shot by other blacks? Didn’t think so.
That's because the black community accepts that carjackings, muggings, armed robbery, etc. are just a part of growing up and their sons shouldn't have to pay with their lives for these youthful indiscretions. No different than if police shot white kids for TP'ing houses.
We truly live in two different countries.

In the Bay Area holding a pistol in your hand and pointing it at police is NOT any excuse for police to shoot you. If you are a Negro. There is no self defense permitted if the assailant is a Negro. I expect something like that with more obfuscatory language to be handed down by the Courts by and by.
I am white and every time that I have been involved in a car crash, attempted carjacking and advancing towards the police with a loaded, stolen handgun, I have only been issued a warning. Every single time !

This, like most incidents like this, are centered around “Martin Luther King, Jr.” areas. Maybe if we eliminate that designation, in those areas crime would be eliminated! /s
The left wants black thugs to be free to kill, rape and destroy. They want whites jailed for saying that blacks commit half of all crime in the Usa.
