Do you remember the Shah pleading to come to the U. S. to obtain cancer treatment? I do. Carter drug out the decision and said NO.

Huh? Carter denied the Shah's initial request to enter the U.S. shortly after he was deposed (which had nothing to do with cancer treatment). But in October 1979, when the Shah asked for permission to enter for treatment, he was allowed in (and was in fact treated in NY).

Your late response on the thread was preceded by an acknowledgement of that fact.

Another poster brought it to my attention. I didn’t remember it.

I placed corrective posts on each thread I stated what I did, and included a link to some information on the topic.

It is also true that he was only allowed to stay a short period of time.

A subsequent request to enter the nation to have his spleen removed was denied.

My correction post is two above your response to my initial comment. Here is a link.

I appreciate the mention. I was wrong.
