Hopefully, the interactive map in the article will come back up soon.

One hauler who commonly runs through the area, sometime Channel 19 regular Jeff Clark, based in Green Bay, Wis., speculated that Operation Truck Stop was little more than the latest tactic to force truckers back into paying for the Indiana Toll Road. So this is how Indiana tries to force us onto the turnpike? he asked in a Facebook post when news broke of the enforcement efforts.PING!

Years ago, Georgia would have to set up temporary inspection stations on US 84 to catch the violators who were dodging the fixed stations on I-10 in Florida. The efforts to bypass may not be toll driven. Caught enough to make it worthwhile.

Well if they maintained their stretch of the Toll Road, this might be fair, but across at least half of that state, it`s a pot hole patched, rolling work of roadway crap! I just road my Shadow VLX to Northwest IN and back from the Akron OH area, they should pay us to ride/drive that disgrace.

Shunpiking
...from the word shun, meaning "to avoid", and pike, a term referring to turnpikes, which are roads that require payment of a toll to travel on them.[1] People who often avoid toll roads sometimes call themselves shunpikers. Historically, the paths around the tollbooths came to be so well known they were called "shun-pikes".[2]

If you have enough drivers mad about the road condition, you could rename it Fury Road.

So Indiana thinks the “sheeple” should be herded like cattle.

Well then I feel sorry for the Spaniards, their roads must suck.

“And if owner-operator Clark is right, theres a better way to get that toll revenue from truckers than threatening to stop and/or stopping trucks along U.S. 20. Drop the rates,”
Won’t happen. Their druggie former governor, Mitch Daniels, SOLD THE HIGHWAY to some foreigners and gave them the right to charge whatever they wished.
Truckers aren’t dumb - if they have spare time they’ll bypass the toll road, while also taking advantage of the better mileage of not having to deal with the wind resistance (although that is somewhat offset by by traffic lights). If they want trucker out of their small towns, they really should consider buying the road back...or taking it back somehow. Otherwise there is nothing illegal about plowing through those towns.

Actuall, there is a limit in the concession agreement as to how much the concession company can raise tolls every year.

Actually, the Toll Road is owned by Indiana, and the company running it, ITRCC, has been bought by IFM Investors, an Australian company.

the harassment that truckers face ( the WORSE drivers on the road) by making them stop all the time at these weigh stations is ludicrous....no wonder they’re aggressive on the road...and then the tolls....
