In a Tuesday post on his Cyber Dust social media app, the outspoken billionaire investor wrote that he would prefer to join the GOP but has an issue with the party's push for conformity.
"Put aside that I disagree with Republicans on most social issues. The Republicans have a much bigger problem that will crush them in every Presidential election until this changes."
Cuban lamented that those who disagree with the "Consensus" are labeled as fake Republicans.
"The Republican Party requires that all their Presidential candidates Conform to Consensus. If you don't agree with every platform of the party not only are you called a RINO, a 'Republican in Name Only.' You are considered unelectable in primaries and become a source of scorn on Fox News. That's a problem," he said.

A few minutes ago I was thinking he was a fairly smart guy. The topic was a tech bubble. I thought I should probably listen to him.
Then I tripped over his thoughts here, and I no longer consider the guy to be smart.
He’s a Democrat, trying to tell me what is wrong with the Republican party.
A DEMOCRAT!
He has remained in the Democrat party for six and a half years, while Obama has been president, and he addresses the problems that keep him from being a Republican?
Tell you what “SMART GUY”, we don’t have Islamic Traitors on our side. We’re not conforming to that. In essence, you have. No you’re not an Islamic Traitor, but you sure don’t mind remaining in the party led by one. You conformed. You bought in.
I read your comments with interest, because I don’t like the Republican party either. I have been temped to leave it for much less than you accept from Obama, but then it dawned on me.
You don’t have a problem with the party. You have a problem with Conservatives. It bothers you that we hold our party members to a certain standard.
What is that standard? That standard is the U. S. Constitution Mark. You have a problem with that?
Stay where you are. You’re in the right place. We don’t need you Mr. Smart Guy.
Duh!
Not sure what he means. I do not agree with any party or candidate on everything. One has to examine the issues that are important for you and decide which party and candidate are more closely aligned. That’s how it has always been and will always be.
Sorry Mark, I’m out!
Wasn’t he a BIG supporter of Obama? Just asking.
I figured that you figured : )
Couldn’t help myself.
He has got it backwards. The social issues NOT being addressed by the past two candidates kept the base HOME.
