“If a Katrina-like storm knocked out power in Toronto, you’d know the preppers by the lights in their windows, running on generators.”

There won't be light in my windows as I have fast put up black out shades for all windows and they won't hear a generator at my house since I have a solar panel and rechargeable batteries. The solar panel will not be seen as there are high brick walls around my back garden.

A small footprint is better for concealment than high visibility footprint of generators providing noise, light and power. Flashlights or ceiling lights blasting out at night says you have “stuff”.

My public footprint is I'm an elderly lady with nothing except a bottle of milk and a box of cereal and the milk will go sour shortly due to no fridge.. It’s obvious I will die shortly unless FEMA comes to save me.

PS: There is a big shortage of 22Mag cartridges. I now have a 22Mag small pistol and the guy at Cabela’s when I bought it, went to shelf where 22Mag was, and told me they had none as it went out as fast as it came in.

Then, he paged a guy (huge store), and he came and asked me what I needed. I said 22Mag, as many as I could get and he said, “I'll be back.” When he came back, he gave me four boxes (50 in a box) of 22Mag, two boxes were CCI and two were Remington. This Cabela’s guy had these boxes hidden and he decides who gets any. I guess he wanted to help a little old lady protect herself.

And a success story!
