That aside, I've always been amused with this whole handicapped thing. I mean, people will park in handicapped spaces at a shopping mall and then go on inside the mall and walk for miles. It seems like doctors are just handing these stickers out like lollipops. Personally, I'd be embarrassed parking in one of those spaces unless I came out of my vehicle in a wheelchair or something.
Yes, you are quite right. But I see way more of the other. But that may just be due to the demographic makeup of my area.

The problem is the parking spots get filled and then people who really need the spaces have no where to go. My mother uses a walker and can barely walk 100 feet without a rest. More than once the handicap spaces are all full and then we are out of luck.
My mother is in a wheel chair and I drive her around shopping and get her in and out of the car and I don't mind pushing the wheelchair the extra distance but often the handicap spot is better access for helping her into the wheelchair and she is entitled to it and is registered with the license plate and all, but we often can't use the designated spots because someone in a hurry is obviously using some relative or friend's sticker. See it all the time. All the time.

...goes around checking all these parking spaces against a list of authorization codes. If they find a faker, they call the police to come and issue a ticket.Are they all too old to be Hall Monitors at a local Elementary School?
Also, he OBVIOUSLY has an inferiority complex about his position relative to soldiers. As well he should. There is no positive comparison.
