From the “Little House” to the Congress? It could happen for Livingston County resident Melissa Gilbert.
Gilbert, star of the hit 1970s television series, “Little House on the Prairie” on Monday announced she would run as a Democrat for the 8th District Congressional seat in next year’s election.
The news thrilled area Democrats.
“I think it’s very, very exciting news,” said county party chairwoman Judy Daubenmier,
“We worked with her on the Schauer campaign (for governor) and, I can tell you, she’s a real trooper. She’ll be a very effective campaigner.”

I like watching some old shows on tv. Used to get “Little House”, but no more. We’re not on cable. I watch “In the Heat of the Night” marathon here - show’s 26 yrs. old. The reality of these actor’s lives depresses me if I think about it. Many of them are since dead.
Sadly they are just actors ... Julie Andrews for instance I never got over seeing her in a movie saying F this and F that, ever since then The Sound of Music is not as enjoyable
I fell in love with Helen Hunt in a great Highway To Heaven 2 hour episode, I had loved her earliest stuff, then she goes on to play hard liberal roles, kind of takes the shine off her early stuff.
I also fell in love with Katherine Heigl in LOVE COMES SOFTLY, ironically one of Michael Landon Jr productions
