You're talking to a very large group of people, many of whom have known each other for a decade or more. The personal bonds here are like a tightly woven web of interconnections. This place is a lot less anonymous and a whole lot less impersonal than it might seem at first glance.
You're new here, but already you're acting like you own the place. That rubs a lot of people the wrong way. Most of us spent the time to let others get to know us before lighting into any sort of fisticuffs. In the experience of most old timers here, the only people who step in the door acting as you do, are professional disruptors, sent to destabilize this community.
